Are full of passionate intensity.” I don’t think our side lacks conviction, but we can’t seem to make ourselves heard over the daily bullhorn of hatred. I’m in semi-permanent slackjaw mode at what this country has become in such a short time.

You may be one of those nice people who believed that they weren’t as bad as cynics such as myself believed them to be. With politicians and others in power, I watch rhetoric, policy and actions.
Oh the arguments we’ve had in our household on just this point. Until just Saturday.
Then, on Friday Susan Collins gave her despicable speech, and on Saturday cast her vote. This of course after W himself campaigned for Kavanaugh, as did Condi.
And I asked my spouse, “Can we agree now that they are not normal human beings with ranges of nuanced feelings and sympathies, if not empathy? But they are simply a bunch of evil people working hard to increase the wealth of the already rich and the suffering of the others?”
We now agree.

It’s my contention that without the whole Bush fiasco (from the completely illegitimate way he was put into office-- which itself was an early sign of how weak our Democracy had become-- to his handing control of everything over to the fascist Cheney, to the Democrats who enabled so much and who wouldn’t hold Bush-Cheney to account) Trump would have been unthinkable.
