With the frenzy the Republicans have been whipped into by Trump and Cruz, I’d be surprised if Kirk doesn’t start alienating more of his own base than any independents he’d attract.

I’m working on a connection between hockey players with toothless gaps (from too many high-sticking blows to the mouth) with North Carolinians, toothless from so many years in the trailer court with no dental care, but still full of spite & hate for anyone different from them…

The Human Rights Campaign endorsed Kirk over Duckworth and took a whole lot of shit for it (as they should have). Kirk is trying to earn that endorsement.

He was endorsed by Human Rights Campaign over democrat Tammy Duckworth. This caused a huge outcry because HRC’s equality report card on Kirk revealed a 78 rating, but Duckworth has a 100% rating! Once again, HRC showed how out of touch they are with regular people outside the Beltway who don’t attend fancy black tie events and congratulate themselves on how absolutely fabulous they are.
So Kirk really doesn’t have a choice in this NBA thing. HRC would have to yank their endorsement if he didn’t toe the line. That would be embarrassing. Our betters in Washington can’t stand to be embarrassed.
