I don’t think that’s 100% fair, but it is on point. I recall a discussion about George “the shrub” Bush’s “A guy you could have a beer with” pitch. Now I’ve never met Bush but in politics you have to kiss a lot of babies. By the time you reach Governor your better than the average sod at kissing babies. The Shrub was good at glad handing people, too bad it was his only talent.
And I’m willing to believe tRump put his nose between Bill’s cheeks and kissed him good. So it’s not a surprise Bill walked away with a smile.
I’m sure the mangled apricot hellbeast is terrified of Gates because he’s a real billionaire, even after giving most of his fortune to his foundation. Unlike the mangled apricot hellbeast.
He’s really rich.
He has no government experience.
He doesn’t have a degree in any field related to any cabinet position, nor does he have a degree at all.
Seems like a good fit for any one of a number of positions.
My wife never liked Bill Gates for some reason, despite the good the Gates Foundation has done. She says he is just “creepy”. Now I know she was always right. Equating JFK’s positives with Trump’s negatives??? WTF?
Rich people. Bah.
One of the people who is honestly more well off and more legit than DT himself. But he will not be affected deeply by any of the adverse moves proposed by the new government.
The difficulty I have in getting this across to many people who are perplexed by why I’m so alarmed is just confounding and exasperating. They’re like “oh, come on, all politicians are narcissists, aren’t they?” It’s even more maddening than trying to explain chronic depression to someone who stubbornly persists in thinking its the same thing as being sad because they’ve experienced sad.
I haven’t really had this problem with anyone with a degree in a science, whether hard or soft. They get that the difference between a colloquialism and technical term that includes a word with a colloquial meaning is vast. But everyone else . . . business and finance majors, humanities types, even engineers. They just don’t fucking grasp it. You can copy and paste the entire DSM V entry and they still won’t get it. Because they knew someone who was kind of vain once and that’s all they get.
(Except for the ones with a NPD relative or former significant other. They don’t need any convincing.)
JFK inspired Americans to spend billions on the space race. Trump apparently want’s to gut the social safety net along with the rest of the Federal government and imprison climate scientists.
I’m not seeing any comparison and find the suggestion insulting to my intelligence. It reminds me of a line from a movie once made to a person making bigoted remarks: “Are you trying to be offensive or are you just stupid”?
Time to stop all this talk about the fine points of narcissism and the jokes about how absurd
everything is----time for action. CALLING DANIEL ELLSBERG!!!
