I used to think 20 years ago he was an amazingly skillful communicator. Either I was wrong then or he’s gotten sloppy and careless and become something of a loose cannon. Which is a shame because the old skillful Bill would be an asset to the good guys for the next few weeks.
Thanks, Bill, for reminding again me why I supported Bernie Sanders instead of Hillary Clinton in the primaries.
What a jerk.
Please note, Bill Clinton, you and Hillary completely screwed up health care for a generation. Barack Obama got the ACA passed and it has benefited tens of millions of people in this country.
Stein isn’t hurting Clinton; Moron Johnson is.
She’s still headed for a landslide.
Can we please stop agonizing everytime the media screams, “Gaffe!”
Is the ACA in need of tweaking? Of course it is. President Obama thinks so, too.
Bill Clinton just offered up a solution – Medicare for All – which is popular among Democrats, especially supporters of Bernie Sanders.
Don’t hide under the couch! If you want Medicare for All, appreciate the fact that Bill Clinton just made a great case for it.
Medicare for all or Single Payer could happen within two years, but don’t bet on it.
I don’t know where you live Darcy, but if you are such a strong proponent of single payer I’ve got to ask if you’ve done anything to assist with passing Colorado’s Amendment 69. ColoradoCare is state level single payer healthcare.
If ColoradoCare passes and is successful it could be a model for the country to follow. You might make more progress here if you work towards something achievable instead of tearing down the ACA all the time.
The game now for the insurance companies is to withdraw from the exchanges, and offer private plans that would not qualify for the exchanges because their coverage is not as good. Basically this is trying to recreate the old system as best they can. What I don’t get is don’t obamacare provisions apply to all plans, whether on the exchanges or not? If that is not true, then they have to fix it. But maybe the non-marketplace plans don’t have to qualify for a metal level, so they can get away with having really poor coverage. I still wonder whether they aren’t setting themselves up for adverse selection. But maybe the idea is to take money from healthy people and send the sick ones to medicaid.
have you watched the video. if not, go to huffington post for the vid and their analysis. talking about fixing holes in the system is problem solving.
Nope. Get him back out there and let him keep explaining why Medicare for All is a good solution for this flawed system.
I’m curious if you could expand on your statement that Bill and Hillary screwed up health care for a generation? My understanding is that the ACA has it’s roots in the Republican alternative to Bill and Hillary’s plan from the 90s.
I love the fact that the ACA is a huge step forward but your comment makes no sense to me.
LOL if you say so. Too bad you have never been right about him for Clinton., ever. But if it helps you sleep at night and feel good about yourself, then great. You have been right about Obama since forever.
Yay. Another fauxgressive who doesn’t know what they are talking about with regards to healthcare, its history leading up to the passage of the PPACA.
Exactly.
Bill’s right. Republicans lifted not a finger to help create solutions, blocking every possibility for fair coverage. (Mission accomplished.)
The other part of this is that people didn’t vote in the off years and allowed them this power.
But Democrats and Republicans are the same, doncha know.
I think Bill was a great communicator, though my opinion has deflated somewhat since Obama came along and raised the bar. Loose cannon, who’s pretty cock-sure of himself.
He is correct the system is crazy. Hillary knows it is crazy and promotes a Public Auction, this plays to Hillary’s platform, she knows it and So does Bill.
This was intentional. Who the hell is going to disagree with him? The GOP? Hell no they are not. Everyone knows now that we can not just end Obamacare.
It is a crazy system so how do we change it? A Public Option that is how.
Another screaming, misleading headline.
Well about the Insurance companies, Currently there is Medicare advantage provided by the Insurance Companies. What does it do? It provides Part A, B, D, and a form of Medigap in one policy for the price of part B alone, they also offer a little better policy for the price of B and D together.
So I do not see them going away. There will be room for them but highly controlled by Medicare.
That triangulation genie pops up more often than …
*adverse selection"
Well done. A very crafty move. There’s no keeping up with the mean people
Huh? Exactly how did the Clintons “completely screw up healthcare for a generation?”
