The race is about delegates, but if Hillary were to win in NY, PA and the mid-Atlantic states by the double digit margins that polls currently project, I think it would represent a turning point in the race where the party would start to be more vocal about telling Bernie to accept the writing on the wall and yes…#toneitdown. Not drop out, but be more conciliatory and cooperative. If Bernie were to win some of those contests or make it close, then he makes a run to the finish line and continues to pepper Hillary with the momentum argument and the meme that she is a weakening front runner. NY matters a lot for both candidates.

Yes…but its probably worth pointing out that he only served 2 terms in the House, and it was the only elected position he had before winning the Presidency in 1988. Everything else, including VP for Ronnie, was appointed.
Oh, you could probably add head of the RNC to that list as well. Which is sorta kinda an elected position.
It’s worse than that though. Sanders needs to hit certain targets in those states to even remain mathematically viable. HRC really only needs to do well in NY and PA and pick up just a few of the Atlantic states. If that’s the case then this race is over in two weeks. The calls for Sanders to tone it down will become deafening.

Her deep grasp of and genuine interest in a wide range of issues shows in that wonkish conversation, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Glad she’s got that opportunity to talk about her positions in detail.

Yes, deep. As opposed to superficial, I can’t even call it a grasp, of only a very few issues.
According to him, things are looking pretty good.
“Our plan right now is to win this thing, and again, I think we’re looking pretty good in New York, in Pennsylvania, in California, in Oregon,” Sanders said on CBS’s “Face the Nation.” “I think we have a real shot to end up with more delegates.”
