Discussion: Biden Hits Sour Note When Touting His Friendship With Segregationists

Sometimes, I swear he is trying to lose before the contest even begins.

Biden is Grandpa at the Christmas party. Mom hopes he just takes a chair, watches the game, and keeps his mouth shut, dreading someone getting him started on family secrets or the good old days.

This is profoundly fucked up, but I still think he’s got the best chance of beating PP, sooo…

I’m hoping Biden can secure an endorsement from David Duke so he can make this “third time’s the charm” imploding presidential run his last.

Go, Joe, go — AWAY!

But Biden’s a moderate something something…

He’s a fucking idiot. “We all got together and we agreed to make it easier for credit card companies to charge really high interest rates and shelter them from scrutiny then we had a nice lunch in the senate office building.” The DE banks got rich of the same black people my Senate friends wanted to keep in poverty, so it was all good amirite?

He’s doing his best to alienate democrat by going after the imaginary GOP middle. It worked Sooooo well for Obama!

This is total insanity. Its like his campaign was custom made to suck the progressive wind out of the party’s sails and suppress turnout as much as possible.

uh, not like this he doesn’t.

Dems need their grassroots base to not merely turn out, but to enthusiastically work to get Democrats elected. Joe “some of my best friends are racists” Biden is going to mean a lack of enthusiasm and engagement by the grassroots, and that will be disastrous for the Dems.

I don’t think this is Biden being senile or grandpa like here. He’s held these beliefs a long time. I think the risk for Dems is that it appears to me that Joe’s conclusion from watching racist Republicans led by McConnell do everything possible to delegitimize Obama’s presidency is to return to the days when you could placate and cut a deal with racists in smoke filled rooms.

Some differences between then and now:

  • Liberals leaned in with the power they had. They weren’t afraid and timid like the Dems we’ve known for the past 3 decades. That made conservatives feel as if they were on their back foot. It took Reagan for that to change.
  • The Cold War served as a restraint on extreme or divisive behavior, even on right wing nuts.

Today:

  • GOPers believe that the days of white majority rule are at an end unless drastic measures are taken. No legitimacy or concessions must be granted to liberals or POC. The system needs to be double and triple rigged to keep whites in power despite declining pop share.
  • POC aren’t willing to play 2nd fiddle to anyone.

This is one of those views from Biden which may convince a lot of soft supporters that he just might not be right for these times even if he polls exceptionally well at the moment against Trump.

WTF??? Why would he even mention these old racists? This is so stupid, He is lost in time. I made up my mind before Biden decided to run that I wouldn’t support him in the primary. I hope he doesn’t get the nomination! Although I will hold my nose and vote for him against Trump in the General Election, please spare me that vote.

Maybe, maybe not. Because if he wins the nod he’ll do it with heavy black support. That’s the only way he wins the nomination.

Biden continued: “I mean, say what you want about the tenets of National Socialism. At least it’s an ethos.”

B)-Can he be fricking coached and prepped before public events, and stick to prepared remarks?

Why are you assuming he is not a racist sexist POS and this is not how he actually feels?

I’m not a Biden fan, I believe he is (1) old and should retire, (2) still reacting to today’s politics as if it is 1980. However, I would support him if he is the nominee. Just hope he is not as each day seems to reinforce my thinking, such as this article.
