Funny how the GOPers (and some Dems!) who parade themselves as more pro-Israel than the Israelis aren’t so big on Israeli things like universal healthcare or broadcasting restrictions during election campaigns. It’s almost as if the “Israel” they’re defending is a figment of their imagination instead of a complex, politically diverse nation that’s very different from the US.

Exactly. I’ve always thought that was the ultimate irony. I’m thinking that ultra orthodox Israelis believe they can somehow play the fundie nutjobs just long enough to get their way and somehow walk away unscathed from the fundie madness.

Bibi is still getting his name out there. It’s the coverage of the event, that carries his message, not the event itself. He won’t get bad publicity out of this unless he shows up wearing Bruno Magli shoes.

What he has done is to eliminate the, heretofore, concept that disagreement with Israeli policies painted one as, somehow, “anti-Semitic”. The sheer partisan nature of his speech and its accompanying arrangements has erased that attribution. Analysis of this war monger’s historical statements, especially in light of recent Israeli intelligence revelations, show him to be a zealot intent on using the United States as its proxy for its never ending cycle of wars.

This emperor has no clothes and this craven speech was the reason that this truth has become so apparent.
