Discussion: Beto Raises $6.1M In First 24 Hours Of Campaign, Surpassing Other Candidates

I assumed he’d be just behind Sanders, didn’t think he’d actually top him. The GOP are certainly scared of Beto given that racist “Irish” tweet over the weekend.

That makes perfect sense. The selection process worked so well last time, afterall.

But I wonder if Trump is scared of him? I don’t know.

Let’s not forget the impressive support for the most under-the-radar candidate, Pete Buttigieg. He’s already got enough donors to qualify for the first debates. His background and accomplishments are very impressive and I believe he can appeal to the widest range of voters, once he becomes better known.

I can’t understand why you’d donate to Beto. The guy has no ideas. His answers to policy questions literally begin with “I don’t know.” (And they end with a string of political cliches.)

Did most of it come from the RNC? I kid, I kid.

Wait until Biden announces. He’s suck every dollar out of circulation!

Agree, he’s a dark horse candidate. So is Andrew Yang, who has a fairly extensive list of ideas, including being the Universal Basic Income candidate ($1000/mo for all 18+) who got 65,000 donors before Pete did. https://www.yang2020.com/policies/

Though I don’t really understand who his online supporters are, which gives me a nervous feeling.

That i don’t know. Rumors out of WH are that he’s afraid of Biden.

I’ll go you one better Andrew Yang, i just learned about him yesterday. The Media never even covered him, at least they gave minimal love to Mayor Pete.

On the bright side, Andrew Yang has already reached 71K individual donors so he will make the first debate in June

Hey, I’m afraid of Biden. The guy should carry a crow bar around to pry his foot out of his mouth.

The Daily Show did.

ETA: All joking aside, he is definitely another voice that should be heard on the national stage.

No question he’s incredibly gifted and accomplished. Really he’s up there in the Thomas Jefferson range. My first question is whether this society can clean itself up enough to deserve him. I have others but that really does spring to mind.

But I thought the rugged… Okay, I’m not going to go there.

Couldn’t agree with you more!

Not a chance. He’d lose to Trump.

Now we know why he was so slow getting out of the gate. He wanted to have a lot of money in his pocket to give him some staying power and the impression of massive support. Same strategy as Sanders but he surpassed Sanders.

If we do clean ourselves up to deserve him, I think Trump should be most afraid of debating Buttigieg.

Buttigieg could beat Trump in a debate while playing the piano.
