And after DC, then what Bernie? Will you continued to battle Clinton, or encourage your supporters to do what it takes to see that Trump isnât elected?
Bernie Sanders: âThe Struggle Continuesâ After California
Iâm struggling to think of: Why?
jw1
Itâs just a flesh wound!
Anything less would be counter-revolutionary.
Anything less would be counter-revolutionary.
That was my thought as wellââThe struggle continuesâ is standard campus radical boilerplate ca. 1971. It calls forth the romantic self-image of the heroic lonely radical, battling the monstrously evil powers of moderate Democrats while wearing his trusty, magical, chick magnet beret.
The Vermont senator has been particularly popular with young voters, an important piece of the Democratic coalition.
I would take issue with just how important young voters are in the Dem Party. They clearly arenât interested in the Rethugs. But, the ONLY thing Sanders was able to do was to build a cult of personality that filled auditoriums with young people whose idea of political activism is going on Tumblr and filling auditoriums. And the small online donations amounted to basically tithing to a politician who was never able to do what he said he could do.
Ah yes. The Beautiful Loser Syndrome.
You noticed the word âstruggleâ as well. âClass struggleâ is a Marxist concept.
Some of his supporters are hoping beyond hope for an indictment. If that happens, so they think, Bernie will be the nominee. Pathetic, if you ask me.
I would only add to what you just said that the progressive message that he was supposedly the champion of appears to be vanishing in the mist. Heâs managed to turn it into a joke.
Before California: If we win California, weâll have a good argument for SDs!
After California: We didnât need California! The struggle continues!
Does anybody really think that anyone will be talking about Bernie and his revolution a year from now?
Bernie Sandersâs struggle against reality continues after California and beyond.
Probably not. Its âsell byâ date will have long passed.
That was my very first thought as well the moment I saw the headline.
He has every right to finish the race, and use his campaign to continue to push for what he believes in. Clinton did not concede to Obama until 4 days after he had the winning number of delegate.
There is nothing wrong with crossing the finish line, even if you donât come in first.
Label it whatever you want, but when you live in an oligarchy, as we do, it is a class struggle.
Which side are you on?
Man, you guys refuse to get it.
He lost the race. Supposedly, he was in this to advance a progressive agenda. That agenda has been repudiated by 3 million plus votes. The longer he refuses to leave the race and endorse the Dem nominee, he destroys the ability to convince the electorate of the âmeritsâ of his progressive agenda.
I mean, that IS what this is about - isnât it?
