Discussion: Ben Carson Goes There Again, Claims Obamacare Is Worse Than 9/11

Early stages of Ronald Reagan Disease??

I too think something is wrong with him. Is there any amount of money Faux puts out that would make a brain surgeon say the insane things he says? First he claims the ACA is like slavery and then it is like thousands of people killed in skyscrapers?

Are his ex colleagues cringing and wanting him to see a neurologist?

Oh, I think Obamacare is worse than 9/11 . . . at least for GOP campaign strategizing.

Ben Carson is preparing to run for office as a Republican and he knows full well that 90% of Republican voters are repelled by black Americans, so to counter this negative attitude he’s attempting to demonstrate that he hates Obama and all his works to a degree that is ten times hotter than Limbaugh. It’s his only chance at political stardom.

Saul linsky has been dead for forty years. If it weren’t for these right wing dickwits, no one would remember who he was.

Excepting for the fact that in the most recent US House elections in 2012:

Dan Keating did the work and found that Democrats got 54,301,095 votes while Republicans got 53,822,442. That’s a close election – 48.8%-48.5% --but it’s still a popular vote win for the Democrats.

Per a column from WaPo.

While you mention it in passing-- it is actually the effectiveness of ® gerrymandering–
that might give one the inclination to believe as you do.

How pathetic - this man is nothing more than a tool.

What were the real-world ‘long term structural changes’ (much less pain to individual families) that were brought about by 9/11 or slavery? Is he really saying the ACA’s impact will be greater? Will the Constitution be amended? Will we have something more odious than the Patriot act?

What a fool, what an absolute Teahadist. Apparently you can wield a scalpel without having a coherent thought in your own head.

willful ignorance…it’s the conservative way!

Thanks. You are correct. The Gerrymandering is extremely effective (which was the whole point of the 2010 elections).

Democrats made a better showing in 2012–but, then again, it was a Presidential year, which favors democrats.

A few points.

Democratic positions poll better than Republican positions by far, yet the best we can do is close elections. This to me signals that there are people having opinions, but not voting on those opinions.

Second, older people outvote younger people, and older people are less and less Democratic. In a recent primary election in NC, 72 year-olds outvoted the entire 18-25 year-old age cohort.

Third, younger people are going to have to go against the grain and find some passion SOMEWHERE. Without youthful passion, the Democrats are finished. There simply are not enough older Americans free from the infection of FOX “news” to counteract those who aren’t. In 2011, for an admirable, but relatively small group, passion was OCCUPY. We are going to need something like that. And soon.

Computers and gadgetry are great ways to communicate, as we see here and every day, but, at some point Boots on the Ground are going to have to happen. At the voting booth especially. We will have to augment the much-needed Democratic turnout, which saved Mr. Obama’s Presidency in 2012 and which you ably described.

Funny thing there: Switzerland which also has the Mandate is the fourth freest country on Earth according to the Heritage Foundation Freedom Index.

In addition, Australia, which also has the Mandate (and who also forces McDonald’s to pay their workers close to $15 an hour), is the third freest country on Earth according to the same Heritage
Foundation Freedom Index.
