Discussion: Ben Carson Goes There Again, Claims Obamacare Is Worse Than 9/11

Dr. Derpson, report to Psychiatric, stat!

Ben Carson is worse than a groinal cyst.

Spouting nonsense for big money - beats working for a living.

Finding it harder and harder to believe that this guy is supposed to be an educated doctor. I don’t recall anybody dying because they finally have access to affordable health care.

Because the GOP thinks that since he’s black, and educated, he’ll be their Obama.

Of course they already tried tokenism in response to Obama and Hillary. it failed spectacularly.

Sorry, but am I suppose to give a shit what that clown thinks?

If you all would just trust us, we’ll create new jobs(slave labor) housing(labor camps) education(christian indoctrination) food(scraps the dog won’t eat)? What does Carson really want? Why can’t he help society with the knowledge that he has, he’s claiming to know better? He doesn’t remember growing up in Detroit, and how he got through school, now he’s the white mans tool(fool works too)

Since he’s 2016’s Herman Cain that’s up to you.

My exact thought, no snark.
I have a relative who just moved into a rather tony nursing home that specializes in dementia patients. He’s a former PhD statistician with several degrees in mathematics. His new “housemates” are former physicians, engineers, professors, writers, etc, and if you ran into any of them ten years ago, they’d each have been the brainiest person in the room. Now they need help in the bathroom.
But at least they were spared the indignity of slowly falling apart in front of a national audience, which seems to be what’s going to happen to Dr. Carson.
I got no schadenfreude here. It’s genuinely sad.

Uncle Ben/Dr. Tom has a severe and possibly terminal case of derp.

Exactly, I want to know what these shits are saying because not only do they have major influence in the Republican Party, many of them are planning to run for president. Sorry, but it’s silly to think ignoring them will somehow make them go away or shut up. And why in the world would we want them to shut up? This is the kind of crazy that’s turning more and more people away from the R Party. I wish they’d report everything Carson says on 6 and 11 o’clock news.

Thank you! Exactly. No matter how far off the rails this guy goes, the GOP thinks Carson can be Obama’s doppleganger. Of course, Carson is so crazy, he doesn’t realize he’s being laughed at and totally not taken seriously.

It is hard to understand how a respected physician could make statements like these, but Ben Carson is an ideologue and his extreme right-wing ideology clouds his judgement. Extremists say extreme things.

Ben, you’re a hot-air piece of st. You’re saying st just to say it. There are real life stories out here to put the lie to EVERYTHING you’re saying…Check this out:

I posted this before, but I feel it’s even more apropos here.

I thought Herman Cain was planning to be 2016’s Herman Cain?
Did God nix the idea already??

No one should come between you and your health care except your doctor…and the insurance companies…and their shareholders…and lobbyists…who all have your best interest in mind unless it conflicts with their best interest…which is profit.

When it comes to your health care, Wall Street is your death panel.

Yes, 6 and 11pm-- and scrolling on cable news chyrons 24/7.
Because-- the ® leadership have done their best to tone down the batsh^t rhetoric since the first of the year to try to infuse a dollop of sanity in advance of this Spring’s primaries.

It’s maddening, I know, to have to wade through the daily mounds of horsesh^t ®s produce-- that only poli-junkies as ourselves see the bulk of on the web.

I want it all ‘virally-pushed’ content-wise to every dumb^sssmartphone in the US.
Mandated to read it all too.

One important lesson I have learned in the age of Republican
dementia, never see a doctor who claims to be Republican.
It’s really scary thinking about having a Republican doctor treat you for so much as a zit.
These people are absolutely bat-crap insane.

The only reason anyone is paying attention to Ben Carson is that the people who pay attention to politics and vote with regularity and conviction tend to be skewed to those elements of the population (old, rural, white, Gerrymandered) who delight in the spectacle of a black man making a fool of himself.

The fact that the racists to whom Carson is pandering would not in any way look at him as any more human than their pet cat (maybe less–to my knowledge, Confederates did not segregate cats) is, of course, well known to Carson. But so is getting paid.

Of more interest to me is the nature of the people who now hold political power.

It is true that voting counts. If that were not the case, the political discourse in the United States would not be skewed somewhat to the right of Joe McCarthy. That’s who now does the bulk of the voting. People who are to the right of Joe McCarthy–and who delight in the spectacle of a pandering black man.

Our political system is dependent on who votes. People under 40, who seem to delight in petitions and email messages (I get about 30 per day), have not figured out yet that a 90+% voting participation rate for responsive representatives can work wonders (ask the TeaBaggers). At present, they are leaving absolute gems like Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders on an island, fighting unfeeling paid operatives of ALEC and Koch, while they agonize over the features of the next cellphone. If the predominant passion of the bulk of voters in the U.S. was bebop jazz, instead of Confederate-reminiscent racism, then Mitch McConnell and John Boehner would be falling over themselves to debate who was the better soloist, Miles or Trane.

Please, can one of this man’s loved ones remind him of the saying about opening your mouth and being proved a fool—?
