Discussion: Ben Carson Endorses Donald Trump For President

Yeah…as someone once said…you attract more flies with honey than vinegar. That being said, my email wasn’t much better than yours however (and I won’t provide a screenshot). I suggested they either didn’t give a shit or were completely unaware of the problem. I entitled my email…Big Goose Egg. Yikes on my part too. They did provide a polite email back though…which I think is admirable.

Edited (at great personal risk) to clarify.

Somehow this post ended up being a duplicate of my previous post.

I didn’t realize that Ben Carson’s nose could get browner…

I like hearts. I have a affinity for many people here that post after being here for so long. I just wish they’d add broken hearts and devil’s horns along side it.

This could be characterized as the “sleep walking” endorsement.

Disqus would be nice.

Endorsing Trump was so easy for sleepy-eyed Ben that he could do it with his eyes closed.

Not a chance.

[Edited to note that this is yet another duplicate post.]

From the Site Status “Blog”:

TPM’s tech team updates you on what’s happening on our side of things.

Please send all bugs and other technical issues to SiteIssues at talkingpointsmemo.com Please include what browser and version you are using, the operating system, and a brief, detailed description of the issue.

Somehow, I get the impression that TPM’s “tech team” is a 14-year-old kid working out of a flooded basement in Bangladesh,

Wanted: Intern for short-term blametern assignment. Siblings with last name “Gremlin” highly encouraged to apply as a group.

Maybe because TPM is telling you that your first post didn’t go through, due to gateway timeout, but it actually did.

Indeed. When I first posted, the message appeared normally. Shortly thereafter, the gateway timeout error message appeared and the original message disappeared. Trying to post again resulted in another gateway timeout. Total result: One message and two duplicates. Apparently the TPM commenting system is modeled on the voting machines used in Ohio in 2004.

Yowza. That his response to a Prime member. At least he was sending it to a member he knew would not require a delicate touch. I probably wouldn’t get an email response, but my clicks on articles would all be redirected to old Slice items and Lauren Fox pieces.

A glitch in the system here, a glitch in the system there – it might get to the point that there is a system in the glitch.

@Lestatdelc @ottnott

I emailed TPM, got reply from Kristin at 8:01 a.m, saying

We are aware of the issue and have our developer working on it.

Also, on Josh’s comments to a Prime Member, he replied to a complaint of mine when I was a Prime Member by saying: “What the fuck can I do about it?” I didn’t renew Prime membership after that.

Okay Daily Show writers – there’s a great gag in there about Dr. Carson separating the conjoined Donalds.

Or a millennial in a Starbucks in Duluth. My reply to email advising commenting was disabled. But there are several odd things going on right now.

Thanks so much for letting us know! We are aware of the issue and have our developer working on it.

Best,

I just realized that Boris Johnson and Donald Trump must get their hair made in the same place:

I don’t think Trump would have had to pay Carson much.

Fact is, it seems Carson (much like everyone else) pretty much hated Cruz. And I bet he still believes he would be a strong contender for the nomination if it weren’t for the Cruz campaign’s dirty tricks.

And Rubio and Kasich are non-factors, which only left Trump.

Perhaps some light entertainment while we wait?

I got:

Two atoms spend the evening at a bar. Walking home, the first says, “We have to go back! I left behind some electrons.” The second asks, “Are you sure?” The first replies, “I’m positive!”

And:

A neutron walks into a bar and asks, “How much for a beer?” The bartender replies, “No charge for you!”

(Sorry. Best I could do at short notice….)

Yeah. My “Seriously get your shit together” which was regarding a pre-written headline that Clinton won Kansas when she lost if by 20 points obviously went over like a fart in church.

Of course I have rubbed Josh the wrong way for quite some time now. Still like his analysis more often than not, and the site generally, but 90% of the reason I spend way too much time here is the community of regulars who comment. Mostly due to the quality insights, fact-checking, humor (both often clever and ribald) of the “regulars” here. That is what I find so valuable.
