I’m sure. After all the Brits could never be accused of being insensitive or having a superior attitude. Just ask the folks in India of the Colonies (pre 1775). Hopefully they are actually seeing this as rightfully kneeing the jerk.

Yeah I think we’re all racist to some extent regardless of color. I think a lot of it’s the nature of the beast, all beast, not just humans. That said, and I believe I mentioned this before here, I really think white racism was bred into us by being an anomaly that dark folks were scared of and may have shunned and or killed so the only early white folks that survived were the mean ones that fought back and sought safety away from dark folks. And it’s just taking a long time for characteristic to get bred back out of us.

Long past the point where grown individuals can do things like this and try to dismiss it as a ‘brain fart’ … a moment of inattentiveness… an ‘Oh gee that was careless of me’
To think that a living breathing 61 year old person who has spent their entire career in media - has lived through the 1960’s, 1970’s, 1980’s … and so on … and is well aware of how racial issues have impacted this couple … then somehow found a - black and white image of a man and a woman holding hands with a baby chimpanzee with the caption, “Royal baby leaves hospital.” - and then posted that on Twitter to send out to the world … and somehow it never entered their head that this was offensive - NOT BUYING IT ! HE knew full well what he was doing - and he chose to post it.
it is kind of the ultimate proof of crassness to do what he did - knowing full well the risks - then make a lame-ass apology - then get snarky petulant when the consequences actually hit him.

I do not follow the royals at all. Was the issue of Meghan’s mixed-race parentage a big thing in the UK? I imagine it was to the usual suspects, not sure how scandalous it was considered overall. I didn’t even know about it until my wife pointed it out the day of their wedding.
If it was a very big deal over there, then yes, this guy knew exactly what he was doing and is upset that he got called out on it. But I’m sure he has black friends.
