Discussion: Barr To Congress: I Can Advise You On Mueller Conclusions As Soon As This Weekend

My prediction–Nearly everyone here will be disappointed with the report’s conclusions.

ETA It will fall short of your expectations.

If he can advise this quick, he already knew what was in the report.

Not optimistic.

With the report’s conclusions? Or, with what Barr claims are the report’s conclusions?

That started with me when Pelosi made her categorical statement on impeachment. Seems everyone in the Beltway knew what was coming and when, well before the rest of us.

Even if there’s bad stuff for donnie, we’ll hear from him that there’s only good stuff.

@Clunkertruck: Not necessarily. Barr needs time to reduce the report down to a few bullet points and brightly colored graphs for Donnie.

Like the prosecutors in a jury trial.

And the unanimous vote in the House by Republicans (and Trump) to release the report.
They were told to vote unanimously and Trump couldn’t keep his mouth shut.

I honestly doubt that Barr is going to go that route. He knows there is an entire cadre of attorneys, Mueller included, who know quite well what is being reported, and that is he misleads Congress, he will be flayed alive.

That being said, I pretty much guarantee that the WH will lie to everyone about the report.

Which sets up a pretty awful scenario, given our current media. Buckle in for lots of “well, this side says that, and the other side says this…we have no way of knowing”

If he holds back we will know, and we will know why.

Opaque but hardly uplifting.

Never have been.
To paraphrase Paul Harvey, we’ll soon know the rest of the story.

I’d love nothing more than to be wrong regarding my pessimism about Mueller’s report.
