Discussion: Avenatti Says He's Still Considering 2020 Bid During New Hampshire Visit

I saw Michelle Wolf in Atlanta this past Wednesday. During a Q&A afterwards, she made the comment: “Democrats always find a way to f things up.” I guess we’ll soon see how truly willing we are.

We won’t be seeing anymore new clips of her show:

On Friday, Netflix quietly pulled the plug on The Break with Michelle Wolf, one of the only “late-night” shows on “television” hosted by a female comedian, just three months after it premiered.

Dems do need an asymmetric challenger to Trump this election, like Avenatti, or someone who is a well-spoken, professional and respectable, a pit bull and an honest, compassionate fighter for We The People. Whether Avenatti could fill that bill, I don’t know but he’s more credible than almost all other presently envisioned political democrats, including Bernie (too old, and a Zionist, like Schumer). If Mike teamed up with the perfect woman vp candidate, he’d be a viable candidate right now. If his platform includes 1. single payer health care such as European countries and Canada have, 2. $15 minimum wage nationally, and 3. free college tuition like Europe, he and any other dem candidate is of interest to me.

Our standard bearer has a whole lot more work to do than cashing in on his representation of that aged-out porn-star, who is herself seeking to cash in on her one encounter with a famous person. Omarosa has one fewer degree of separation.

Look a little deeper into his bio. He has some experience in Dem politics.

While in college and later in law school, Avenatti worked at The Research Group, a political opposition research and media firm run by Rahm Emanuel (later White House Chief of Staff for President Barack Obama, and Mayor of Chicago).[23] Avenatti worked on over 150 Democratic and Republican campaigns in 42 states while studying at George Washington University.[9][24]

Yeah, yeah, I know…Rahm…but he’s not Rahm and he’s right with “They go low, we hit harder”. How many Dem candidates across the board this season have less political experience than this and yet are still doing quite well in their races?

If decides to run, great, he still has to win the primary and if there is a better candidate, fine. I’d still like to see him have his say in the primaries.

No. No no no no no no no.

We need someone with a clear executive or legislative record who can run on competence. Avenatti may be a current hero of the anti-Trump people, but beyond that he’s got nothing.

Bread & butter issues. That’s what we’ve got to focus on.

I don’t twitter well, but here are his positions on issues, hope link works.

What bothers me is that we won’t know everything we should know about him until it’s too late. I’m sure he must have said and done many controversial things we won’t hear about until he’s the candidate. Then again, look at Trump.

LOL no.

Go back to TV lawyering, Mr. Avenatti.

Then look it up, he has a web site, he’s on wiki, he has a Twitter account. He has experience in oppo research so he knows what that’s about.

Look, just because he wants to run doesn’t mean he’ll win the primary and he has a right to run if he wants to.

It’s not the stuff we can look up that concerns me.

It seems like we are reaching the same point a lot of the people who voted for Trump did - nothing else has worked, so let’s throw a rabid raccoon on their face.

At least I will always have the soaring rhetoric of Obama and the initial good feeling of the 2008 election to keep me sane in my darkest hours. Trump has wounded us much more deeply than I ever thought possible.

Why run a candidate that stands no chance? He’s a divisive egomaniac that seems to put all his energy in being against things rather than for them. Let him take on Trump then fade away.

Is it the Silly Season already?

Foolishness.

If it’s Avennati vs Trump in 2020, we’ll have the Pythoner election: The Silly Party vs. the Very Silly Party.

I like everything I have seen about him…but for you doubters…who then IS your favorite? In WI, we were mostly surprised there even was a Gov election and didn’t know WHO was running against Snott Wanker. Is that the way to go, just pick another vanilla candidate based on credentials…or do you go with a fire-breathing semi-celebrity? Kinda the same thing on the National front…we just lost with a super qualified candidate who may have got around to Medicare for all, free college, and $15 minimum wage. I understand she also had the highest unfavorables ever in history, and was a completely KNOWN (if not completely understood or fairly represented) candidate.

I think as a President, if you have good Dems around and below you…you are fine. You don’t need to be a master legislator. Not saying I would go all-in on Avenatti right now…but again what bright shining star aside from him is peaking?

I’ve got great positions on all the issues - the best! - but I’ve not run any organization, much less the enormous organization that is the US Executive Branch. I want someone who can bring executive experience and focus to the horrendous job of trying to move this country in some kind of unified direction.

Avenatti would be a great bomb thrower against the GOP hypocrites, but as a candidate he’d be a disaster. He’d also pull the flash-loving and red meat types, like the Bernie bots, away from the candidates who have the potential to go the distance. Morale building? Yes. Undermining the credibility of a party that needs to sell itself on bread and butter issues? Also yes.
