Discussion: Arrested Fox Anchor Was Fresh Out Of Rehab, Appeared 'Very Intoxicated'

Amen. Last time I’ll click on any article unless it’s about his sobriety 12-steps, one of which is releasing a storehouse of memos with titles like “How to lie about Benghazi” and “How to scare people about Climate Change” and so forth.

“In 2009 the U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued a warning of an increased risk of depression and suicidal thoughts and behaviors in patients taking gabapentin”

Thanks, Pfizer. Thanks, FDA. Thanks, medical system.

The ‘news’ is a harsh mistress…

Oh my, I didn’t even recognize him, and when I read his name I had to look again to make sure it was him. He was very good looking when he was at CourtTV and still quite when he started at Fox, but started to look “puffy” early on. The image above is from HARD abuse since. There is no way he should look like that in this time-frame from just normal aging. Not guessing whether working at Fox caused it, just noting that it happened since.

Having lost family members due to hard alcohol abuse (either directly or complicating), I wouldn’t wish what they went through on anybody else, even a douche-nozzle at Faux sNooze. I hope he finds successful treatment before he loses more than his looks.

Drinking Vodka since 9 AM!!!.

You know, my ex-brother-in-law doctor once said (as we were sitting in an airport restaurant waiting for them to call his flight) that you can always tell an alcoholic because they drink before Noon. My ex-bro never drank - you know the squeaky clean type. So, I said to myself, as long as I waited until Noon to have my first drink, I wasn’t an alcoholic. LOL. It was funny at the time

Easy!

He’s simply auditioning for the Dan Aykroyd part in a remake of Trading Places.

Rehab for people who don’t want to get sober. Dry out for 30 days and then get back at it. Must’ve been somebody elses idea

Gabapentin is safe, effective for treating alcohol dependence, study shows

Source:
The Scripps Research Institute

Summary:
The generic drug gabapentin, which is already widely prescribed for epilepsy and some kinds of pain, appears to be safe and effective in the treatment of alcohol dependence. The finding comes from a 150-patient randomized, placebo-controlled, double blind clinical trial.

FYI: Gabapentin is not a “pain killer”, in the common sense of the term.

It is an anticonvulsant medication that was originally created to treat epilepsy, but was later found to also treat such mood disorders as bipolar disorder and depression. It also is useful in helping patients with chronic pain or nerve damage. As such disorders are also frequently co-morbid with alcoholism, it is not unusual for it to have been prescribed to treat this addiction.

However, it would definitely lower the level of alcohol required for someone to be intoxicated if he or she drank while taking it. Add to that the fact that Jarrett had detoxed and now probably had a lower tolerance to alcohol.

Wondering why you bothered to post that reply. It’s not relevant to my comment, since I didn’t write “willing to go to EVERY length.” That doesn’t even make sense. Are you on something?

I use it for what is called sensory neuropathy. Very effective. Also when I had extreme pain from shingles my Dr. told me I could use it for pain relief. I believe it has other uses as well. I wish him well. I don’t care what network he works for.

This man is not the first (nor will he be the last) to drink upon release from rehab. Maybe this will be a wakeup call for him.
