More evidence that at least some Sanders supporters are the kinds of voters who’ll end up supporting Trump.
Sanders’ response last night was extremely disappointing. Is he big enough even to understand that his actions now could determine not just Hillary’s fate but whether the Dems win the Senate? He could be working his way out of becoming Budget Committee chairman.
Jesus. Because, yeah, a news organization reporting the news should be punished.
Well as someone who voted for Sanders, I am very disappointed with Sanders. I detest these self serving attacks on the “media.” Is so Nixionion.
This report is the tip of the iceberg
.
The first amendment is having a fight with the second amendment.
Definitely Trumpian.
Sanders accused AP of “hounding” super delegates
“Only I may hound the super delegates!” FIFY
Insane that it has come to this in America.
Hounding reporters for reporting the facts is a real winner thing to do! Trump does it too!
That’s awful. Ms. Keith is a family friend from way back. I have been so happy to see as her career has developed. Unfortunately this is the negative side of being a public figure. So terribly sad that this harassment is in any way connected with liberals or progressives
Arithmetic is biased in favor of the establishment, dude! It’s just The Math trying to keep us down! Fight the power . . . and the decimals, and the fractions, and the percentages, and the addition and subtraction!
I disagree that Sander’s actions are that significant. At this point, he’s not hurting Hillary or the Democratic party anymore. He’s just hurting himself. His actions this week will affect maybe half a percentage point of voters who follow his lead like a dog on a leash. The rest will either flock to Clinton out of pragmatism and acceptance of the results of the election, or were never going to support her, regardless…
What will be affected is his standing in the Senate, where he caucuses with Democrats, whatever he chooses to call himself. It will affect his image on the national stage, as either a gracious loser, helping to build a better party, as Clinton did 8 years ago, or as a bitter old crank, screaming about the rules and throwing a tantrum after the game clock has expired.
He can accept that his supporters weren’t really his, they were Democratic voters who agreed a little more with him than with Clinton, but are still going to support the nominee, or he can go down in flames believing the his not-insignificant chunk of supporters were there because they share his vision of Progressive ideological purity and will happily burn the country to preserve it.
One way or another, the race is over, he’s lost. He can help the healing, or he can smash his own face against the brick wall of the Democratic electorate.
I’d prefer the former, but since Clinton is polling well ahead of Trump in a national election, even without the support of the BernieBros, I’m not terribly concerned with what they do with their vote.
Sanders accused AP of “hounding” super delegates
God, I hate it when the press does that “journalism” thing.
But…but…but we simply MUST reach out the them! They need to be brought into the Democratic party or all is lost! /s
That’s wrong. Time, energy, money, get out the votes efforts all would benefit from a unified front and he’s slowing that process. Bernie’s either unwilling or incapeable of publicly working with the Democratic party and supporting Clinton and it hurts her chances of winning and the party’s efforts to grow and once she’s elected, push legislation that Bernie says he supports. I agree he’s mostly hurting himself, and we can absolutely win without him or the BernieBros, but he’s a drag on an otherwise stellar campaign from Clinton and what could be a massive shift in the overall electorate towards liberal and progressive ideals.
There are more than few Bernie supporters that need to grow the hell up and more than few who need to take a class in civics so they can learn how our system works. If I hear one more Berner whine about how unfair this election was I too may start threatening people.
Some millennials raised on the anonymous internet think that they can spew unlimited toxic sludge. Now it seems that they are taking it outside of the internet and attacking anything they don’t like.
OK, so now we see what kind of revolution Bernie and his goons are advocating. If a news outlet reports facts he doesn’t like, they threaten the reporters. Got it. That’s the way to a healthy democracy.
It’s known as “killing the messenger”. It’s as old as history.
