Believe me, I cannot wait for the first bill of the payday loan to come in, much to the confusion of so many who insist it was the first step on the road to economic victory.
The other day Rasmussen called to poll me on my home phone. They tend to be a right leading poll often cited by Fox. I went through their list of questions, most were fair, some leading. Hopefully I skewed their poll.

With the passage of the Republican tax plan, The Obama Economy has become The Trump Economy. With all the attacks on the ACA, ObamaCare has become TrumpCare.
We shall see if all those chickens come home to roost.
In 2010, Republicans had a 6 point enthusiasm gap and picked up 63 House seats.
According to the Cook Political Reportâs David Wasserman, turnout in Democratic-leaning Allegheny County equaled 67 percent of presidential-year turnout, but voters turned out at only 60 percent of presidential levels in Republican-leaning Westmoreland County. That sort of turnout gap suggests that registered-voter polls could be underrating Democrats in this yearâs midterms â and could turn a challenging year for Republicans into a catastrophic one.
This isnât 2010, Cupcake.

Some thoughts:
-
Itâs still a net negative of 16 points. Thatâs a lot.
-
The voters who disapprove of Trump one week and approve of him the next are not the ones who will turn out in the midterms for the GOP. This is borne out by the big blue swings weâve seen at every election. Intensity of approval and disapproval is key.
-
Dems do need to keep hammering on and on about the tax scam, if that is indeed the basis for this resurgence. I personally think that Trumpâs travails with Stormy Daniels elicits sympathy in many people, as was the case with Bill Clinton and Lewinsky.
-
The focus of the Dem efforts for 2018 should be to dismantle the GOP, not Trump. Trump is more intensely popular than the GOP at the moment.

BlueWave is very much on track.
The sympathy vote never fails !
Trumpâs approval rating has been between 39% and 42% all of March.
This is not some upward trendâin fact, itâs a sign of how little change there has been in his approval ratings.

Oh, I get that there are people like this when I worked at the local public library in college and grad school I had a coworker who was an avowed Libertarian. It is just the disconnect that goes on in their head always makes me want to go âDude, you work for one of the most purely socialist institutions in the country.â
This is an interesting comment â just because folks are âtribalâ about Spanky doesnât necessarily mean that that translates directly into Goopers at the local level.
Besides the tax cut, I attribute this rise to Trumpâs tariff/more equitable trade announcements. Whether or not his talk results in action, or whether any action really has a positive impact on any trade imbalances between us and other countries, I think his better approval rating shows people responding favorably to whatâs been announced so far.
Libertarianism has become a synonym for selfishness. They will take anything offered while complaining that other people are taking whatâs offered. Hypocritical and lame.
write to the news outlet of your choice and tell them you want coverage of deregulation, tax evasion, and the consequences to the infrastructure of the tax bill
Go back and read my comment. Very slowly this time, that may help. I was pointing out the Democrats had a seven point enthusiasm gap in Pennsylvania, the Republicans only had a six point enthusiasm gap in 2010.
That sort of turnout gap suggests that registered-voter polls could be underrating Democrats in this yearâs midterms â and could turn a challenging year for Republicans into a catastrophic one.
ETA: Get it now?
Iâm not seeing on their website anything about the ages of people who took the survey.
And we are suppose to quake in our boots that the President is UP TO 42%. Give me a break. This will melt away just like all his other âbouncesâ have. Take a look at Trump. He is teetering on the edge of a complete breakdown. So he had a good poll. Letâs not make more of this than it deserves.
No shit. We celebrated when W started dropping to the 40s.
