Hopefully, DeSantis will never hold another elective office he needs to quit ever again!

Who is the Dem candidate for his congressional seat?

He is busted as a racist using the term monkey up, is exposed for speaking at white nationalist events, and now resigns from Congress. How about withdrawing from the Florida governor’s race?

So, how has he justified receiving a salary up to now?

Is there time to add another R or will she run unopposed or will DeSantis remain on the ballot?

She’s running against Michael Waltz.

I’m surprised he resigned. I presumed he was using the “Lieberman Method.”

Did anyone else look at the headline and think “amid” was “and”? That was an awesome ten seconds before I realized my mistake.

Internal campaign numbers must be worse than generally known. Think Bob Dole resigning to campaign full time against Bill Clinton.

If he doesn’t win I am sure Don the Con can find some use for him.

De Santis and his (very few) allies shot their one and only bolt at Gillum with the repeated repeated repeated repeated GOP-fed story on that Abscammy looking maybe Who TF Knows FBI investigation or whatever it ended up being into
an influence peddling sting in Tallahassee, where Gillum is mayor.

The story got into each for the Florida dailies, USAToday, the NYTimes, the WaPo, etc etc, BUT it was exactly the same story - even the editing was consistent, no media outlet did any of its own work and at most just re-worked the language to fit its own style - and the story CANNOT GO FORWARD now in any way at all until after the November elections.

And even that dignifies it all too much. The FBI tried a multi-agent sting. Clearly that didn’t work to expose anything criminal. But FBI undercover agents DID manage to find out the names of people Gillum is friends with in the local real estate development business, so that gave the FBI some names to hand to the DoJ for a Grand Jury hearing. Apparently there WAS such a GJ, but it’s not even clear that the GJ is even still sitting, since all the reports on its activities with witnesses were already over a year old BEFORE this summer.
And the only stuff that’s been leaked out of the GJ hearing is that Gillum went on some trips with some of his development buddies BUT he paid his own way, so there’s not quids for any prose.
Oh wait: Gillum’s brother ‘somehow’ secured 4 tickets to Hamilton during a trip to NYC, and Gillum attended but didn’t pay for the tickets he used.
Oh wait further: Gillum’s brother got the Hamilton tickets in a trade for tickets he bought to other events.
Sooooooo De Santis is running on a corruption claim that at most is based on one brother treating another brother to 2 tickets to one Broadway show.

And now it’s De Santis’ turn in the barrel.

Today’s Final Jeopardy category is: Congressional Politics.

And the answer is: 299

The correct question is: What is the number that is one greater than the number of days in the year where a Congressman does absolutely nothing that crosses the divide between acceptable and unacceptable?

He needs to spend more time with his tiki torches, collection of Nazi War memorabilia and his Rottweiler, “Ribbentrop”.
