‘Both-sides-ism’ and false balance are one of the many Achilles heels of modern journalism that the right-wing learned decades ago how to fully exploit. It’s years beyond time the Dems either demand the media stop these practices or learn to use them to their advantage as well.

The only way you could say the media leans to the left is if you use the analogy that the left side of the media has been severely damaged, resulting in a weakness. That would cause an incline.

Fucking AP.
There was a time when you could rely on their reporting, but that was back in the day of AP and UPI both providing services to news outlets around the world. Truth and competition for accuracy were hallmarks of journalism.
And, the information all came in via Teletype as below. You had to be careful to digest everything before you used the ‘copy’. There are any number of stories where local newscasters would ‘rip and read’ live on air, and regret it later. And yes, I have experience with checking the wire during the day.

AP FACT CHECK: Christians put the blame for Jesus’s crucifixion on Pontius Pilate. But it takes two to tango, Pilate washing his hands of the matter is one reason for Jesus’s crucifixion. Jesus’s refusal to answer his questions is another.

Well, the Democrats are at least partly to blame. They shouldn’t have worn such a short skirt. And those heels!
Trump takes the government hostage and holds it for ransom. Democrats are to blame for refusing to pay the ransom. The Democrats message is terse and to the point: WE DO NOT NEGOTIATE WITH TERRORISTS.
AP claims terrorists have rights too.

False equivalence/Bothsiderism is destroying the country, but it appears to be incurable, inoperable and resistant to any form of inoculation, let alone learning from the disasters it is demonstrably causing. It is the single worst form of bias because it always…ALWAYS…grossly favors the side of evil and untruth. AP might as well be on the Trump 2020 campaign payroll.
