Another Pelosi Holdout Flips To Support

“Congressman Schrader, Oregon Congressman Schrader, to the white courtesy phone, please.”

Having Lynch support Pelosi makes me wonder if I should now change to opposing her.

We ain’t paying for your fucking wall and you are not going to use the dreamers as hostages .
The era of unbridled Trump is rapidly drawing to a close.

All of the original signers of the ‘No Pelosi’ letter, most of whom come from safe districts, need to flip to ‘yes’ to allow some of the freshman to do what they need to do. However, I would advise any incoming Rep not to vote against Pelosi because he/she will not move up the ladder in the party and won’t have the support of the grassroots base in future races. This is a year where the leadership vote matters a great deal. Nancy Pelosi has a non-trivial chance to ascend to the Presidency. Even if that doesn’t happen, we need a real leader who can navigate these difficult times and keep the Republic on track.

Did anyone really think that Rep. Pelosi was not going to be the Speaker?. If you vote against her and she win where does that leave you when assignments are handed out or when you propose legislation. This was and is a non-story.

Nope. I was pretty convinced she was going to be.

And where does that leave you when she hands out bribes campaign contributions?

… increasingly likely that the wily lawmaker will find a way to return to the speakership.

More like increasingly certain (insert eye roll).

Is it just me or do all of these people opposed to Pelosi look awfully…pale and male?

I wonder, as Lynch is not really a Democrat.

Yep. The effective kind.

I thought she should have been challenged, healthy thing to do. But for Christ sake, you have to put a challenger out front! And then close ranks, get behind him/her. Not that you win, but that’s how you challenge leadership - if you’re serious. Looked more like a weak bluff in a poker game.

He is my least favorite Dem in the MA delegation, but he is a Dem and far better than any R could be. This is a district that could go red if Dem’s nominate someone too liberal and the R’s find a good moderate.

I agree.

“Wily?” Really? It implies she’s underhanded or deceitful. Don’t be like the NY Times.

The coming congress will very probably be one of the most important in our nation’s history. In my view, we have an extraordinary need for a capable, experienced, and extremely competent leader to counter the remarkably undemocratic tendencies of the current crop of R’s.

Seeing how Pelosi is maneuvering herself into the Speaker’s role gives faith that she is the person to do the job that is neeeded. And, for those who fret about this kind of thing, it is unlikely at their age that the current Democratic leaders will become ‘intrenched” in a way that blocks younger leaders from emerging over the next few years.

Democrats have flipped 40 GOP-held seats across the country to seize control of the House. They now have 46 of California’s 53 House seats. She owns the House, all that’s to left is to claim it.
