Discussion: Another Pelosi Holdout Flips To Support

She does I agree. I would have been deeply disappointed if they had kept her from being Speaker. Very deeply disappointed.

Maybe it’ll go to 41 after the NC absentee ballot fraud is settled with a new election and the Democrat McReady wins.

O I’ll take it. Yes please! I mean I didn’t think we’d make 40 but we did.

A revolution that deserves to die. Pelosi was a good Speaker and she will be again.

I live in Pelosi’s district and have to agree with what you say. Sadly, some people here will whine on about bribes and corruption, when there is been none and overlook the bribes and corruption in R speakers over the years. She truly is the person to do the job and she’s going to do two years and hand the keys over to someone else at that same time, maybe Schiff.

ā€œā€¦Pelosi has a …chance to ascend to the Presidency.ā€

Have been imagining that scenario for about 2 years now and it’s good to know i’m not completely out of my mind.

A few months ago I was one who thought the Dems needed some new blood in the leadership but there is nobody better suited than Pelosi to take the gavel again at this time. It’s way too much to hope for but if there was true justice in the US Trump would be thrown out, Pence would be shown to be the corrupt sleaze he is and Pelosi could end up a viable President. I don’t think that can be said for any of those who were opposing her. Quite the fantasy though.

In that scenario i believe 1,000,000 repugnican heads would explode and…

Wouldn’t THAT be a wonderful X-mas gift to the country?!

In that scenario many millions of heads from both parties would explode. I know mine would.

Please - save your head for the champagne to come!

Their is less than a 1% chance that Pelosi will be elevated to the presidency. To do so would require 20 Republican Senators to vote to impeach both Trump and Pence. If that were ever to even remotely have a chance of happening, I’m guessing that those Republicans would demand that a new Vice President be appointed. Someone other than Pelosi.

@gelfling545, ā€œpale and maleā€. Thanks. I’m going to remember that.

That’s not how the succession works and they’d be out of luck.

Oh good god…for ONCE can we just appear UNITED? Vote her in, talk in private about how to elevate (and TRAIN!) younger individuals to take over and watch the master at work for the next two years. PLEASE!

Actually, Lynch has never been challenged in any way by a Republican…if he’s had a challenger, he’s gotten over 70 percent in every congressional race he’s been in; half of his elections have been unopposed. Coming from his working class roots, he is definitely a Reagan Dem, which is kind of odd here in MA, but he’s well known and popular enough in his district to win pretty easily. Seth Moulton, another MA Dem who challenged Pelosi’s leadership, is in a slightly more vulnerable position than Lynch, and I think his strategy in that challenge was a bit reckless…high-risk, low-reward… He’ll probably be primaried in a couple years by a further-to-the-left progressive who can point to his face plant on his coup attempt, and if he wins that, any Republican challenger will capitalize on his failure of leadership AND for being a chastened pawn of Pelosi’s.

They could both resign in exchange for deals to avoid prosecution. That’s the most likely way that Pelosi would ascend to the Presidency. Had Agnew remained as Nixon’s VP while facing a GJ indictment, that’s probably how things would’ve gone down.

Agree, Adam Schiff would be one helluva speaker after Nancy.
