Discussion: An Armed Protestor In Oregon Was Once Convicted Of Murder

Discussion for article #244923

Is that a Subaru CrossTex in the picture just above the goose in the sign? Love is what makes a Subaru a Subaru, maybe there is a glimmer of hope here.

conviction of a felony in California carries a lifetime ban on gun ownership… there is no restoration of this right… if this idiot has a gun it’s a felony…

What’s your point?

Just hauling guns on to that Federal property ought to be a crime and then the aggravated charges start adding up.
Like too dumb to live and Faux patriotism/stolen valor.

Can I point out that this law-abiding citizen is yet another victim of Obama (along with Trip Palin)?

As Jeb Bush said, Obama’s “first impulse always is to take rights away from law-abiding citizens, and it’s wrong.” The Oregonian is just one of his useful idiots in the grand plan to disarm the good guys.

What a disgusting ongoing FUBAR mess and continuing tragic circus that bunch of white Welfare Cowboys looking for more ‘free stuff’ at the point of a gun has created.

Having unauthorized weapons on Federal property IS a crime.

The dude convicted convict with guns is a Republican…no surprise there. Is he also on a military pension and screaming for smaller government?

The Republican’s have been cutting the budget at the ATF and other agencies for years…making these agencies completely under staffed and unable to enforce our nation’s laws.

A convicted fellon, under the NRA and right winger Republicans and Teapublicans, gets to carry a deadly weapon - an AK15 assault rifle. Unbelievable.

If guns make us all safer, then why don’t Republicans allow guns in their campaign events? Why aren’t guns allowed inside the US Capital Building? Why aren’t guns allowed in TRUMP Tower? Why aren’t guns allowed in the Supreme Court. After all, it takes a good guy with a gun to stop a bad guy with a gun…as the NRA wack jobs would like the public to believe.

"…Oregon’s Gov. Kate Brown declared that “this spectacle of lawlessness must end.”

It should’ve ended two weeks ago.

I’m sure his voting rights have been restored along with his right to carry a gun. Right? Right?

But Wednesday, Oregon’s Gov. Kate Brown declared that “this spectacle of lawlessness must end.”

Take Finnicum first.

Technicalities, I know, but it’s an AR-15. And the AR-15 isn’t an assault rifle. It just looks like one. Assault rifles have to include a fire selector to merit the designation, and the AR-15 is only semi-automatic–one squeeze, one shot.

The distinction matters, because we are easily dismissed when we say things about guns that prove we don’t know anything about them. It’s an instant signal for people on the fence to tune us out.

Otherwise I agree. The first thing that should happen is that Trump Tower should no longer be declared a Gun Free Zone.

How the hell is this nonsense in Oregon still a thing?

That’s what jumped out at me too. How on earth did this guy get four years for beating his dad to death with a steel rod? WTF?

Because we don’t ignore that which should probably just be ignored.

It’s funny – someone made a joke about Palin sending Track to Oregon and it took a while for me to get the joke. This is no longer news, it’s just really bad comedy/political theatre. If it were an after midnight SNL sketch, there’d still be 3 minutes left.
