Discussion: American Medical Association: New ACA Repeal Bill Would Still Do 'Serious Harm'

Dear AMA, that’s what the Freedumb Caucus wants - serious harm.

Trump: It will only harm the poor and those needing medical assistance. As they eventually die, rest of us will get to enjoy a wealthier and healthier life. I guarantee that we will be happy, especially my wealthy friends.

Trump just needs to take every AMA doctor out for a round of golf at Mar-a-Lago. And no worries about the cost of hosting them all – bill it right back to the American people.

Thanks again Uneducated Vote!

Sooner or later Republicans will get tired of this whole healthcare debate and come up with a solution. A Final Solution, if you will.

Of course it will do great harm.

For Republicans, that’s a feature, not a bug.

It’s a despicable farce. It’s an abominable amalgam of atrocious avarice. It’s lethal, and the reps who switched their votes are being paid with the modern-day equivalent of just a single piece of silver.

Minor quibble: Its not (as the headline would have it) that the new bill would “still” do serious harm–as if it is a little better than the previous but not yet good enough. No, this bill is worse. I haven’t heard of any changes that would imply that 24 million wouldn’t continue to lose health coverage. And it guts essential benefits and pre-existing conditions protection. It might even erode pre-existing conditons guarantees for people with employer-based health care.

This is a monstrosity.

Can’'t wait for Trump to jump on the AMA tonite … but He just might find some other squirrel to chase :frowning:

Dear AMA,

You endorsed Tom Price to the be the HHS Secretary. He is the chief architect of this disaster. Ain’t Karma a bitch?

Love,

Not clever, if you will.

Remember the good 'ol days? A massive complex piece of legislation would require multiple public hearings… input from various stake holders, genuine debate, GAO estimates and so on? Months of hard work.

The AMA has an opinion and how will this opinion be expressed? In the newspapers? On Twitter? Where are the congressional hearings? Is there no institutional memory left?

And according to the WaPo 22 GOP Representatives have moved from a “No” vote to a “Yes” vote because of the modifications to Death Panel 1.0.

Argh!

Well, Joe Walsh just said it is inner city people that stop us from having universal healthcare. I guess having anything other than WASP patients from suburbia and rural areas is just too expensive.

OT, the GOP snowflakes are miffed at Colbert.

Colbert had a lot to say about Trump and Putin, but now he’s silent amid #FireColbert backlash

Here is their pathetic website, which will eventually list all of the Colbert advertisers that TPM’ers should call and express our support for SC and his “truthiness” on Donnie. As well as the number for CBS. Thanks, Snowflakes!

I just visited the site, and noticed that they’ve got pictures of three of his books, saying we need to boycott them.

Yet they’ve provided links to where you can buy the books at Amazon.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the site is a Poe and the owner is trying to earn some commission through sales of Colbert’s books.

The GOP is interested in claiming a WIN. They have no intention of people really being able to have healthcare.

A what? I think I understand the gist, but I’m interested in the origin. At 69, I am a little slow on the uptake of new slang. But that’s cool.

The White House responded to Jimmy Kimmel’s monologue saying they “shared his concern.”

Joe Walsh, the dumbass moron who didn’t feel the need to pay child support, said Kimmel’s “sad story” didn’t obligate him or anyone else to pay for someone else’s health care.

Republicans are the worst party ever. Their heartlessness and selfishness are hard to believe, but they provide examples daily.

Broken. They’re broken people.
