Interesting. Grayson loves getting under people’s skin and I hope he keeps this up. What this article doesn’t mention that I think is a critical fact is that two of the Republicans sitting on the Select Committee (Trey Gowdy - chair, and Susan Brooks) are also members of the Ethics Committee. It seems to me that those two really need to recuse themselves from Ethics Committee business relating to the Select Committee. Not that they would, but if there ever was an argument made for a conflict of interest, this is it.

Ugh. It had to be Grayson? This seriously needed to be done. However, with Grayson’s reputation for being rather out there, I wish it had been someone more mainline. I wish the more mainline Democratic reps were more willing to take things like this on.

PS. There was no reason for the article to put the word gaffe in scare quotes. A gaffe is a politician’s accidental telling of the truth, which exactly describes McCarthy’s comment.

He’s the one to do it! Hothead, short-fuse, but sharp lawyer with top affiliations. He can stand up easily against Gowdy’s super-smart hillbilly lawyer shtick. Rogue to the point of near outcast, so leadership cannot be tarred with his independent acts.

Well good. Let’s hope something comes of this. What’s frustrating is that it took a “gaffe” to get here. These Benghazi hearings were a farce to begin with and I don’t think anybody with even less than half a brain could see this whole thing for what it was. It’s been an obvious Hillary/Obama hit-job on the taxpayer dime since day 1.

I’ll file this under ‘shit liberals knew all along but had to wait for reality to catch up to the other half’. You know, right next to everything else.

Grayson’s reputation is “out there”. Does that mean he doesn’t sit back and allow Republicans to lie and misguide. He is a Hero to many of us. Only the Beltway Democrats and Republicans dislike him. One of the few I will send money to. AND I don’t live in his state.

Hmmm. This is just another example, along with McCarthy’s comments, of how this panel is just another scam. I’m glad someone posted this, and each time Gowdy goes on a TV news show–fat chance that it’ll happen, though–a really smart host ought to show this.

That’s an interesting comment. Why do you think Grayson is said to “be out there”? Because he will do things like this and that must be painted as out there. Grayson will do what it takes courage to do. And that damn sure must be painted as out there.
