Discussion: Alabama GOP Sticks By Roy Moore As National Party Grows Desperate To Dump Him

At this point, with the polling I’ve seen, keeping Moore in the race might be the best way to help Doug Jones win.

Nice to note that some of the members wanted an endorsement from the committee.

Much is made of Moore’s troubles due to these teen girl allegations. Yet he was thrown off the Alabama Supreme Court not once, but twice. I hear that cited infrequently at best as reason to oppose his candidacy. On what fricking planet is being forcefully removed from a high judicial office twice NOT a disqualifier for future office? And why isn’t more made of it? Even Doug Jones doesn’t feature this aspect of Moore’s background very prominently while campaigning. Was Moore’s snubbing of separation of church and state and animus toward LGBT people so endearing to the people of Alabama getting thrown off the court is actually a badge of honor? I can’t think of another reason it’s not a negative.

Ok, so the Alabama GOP committee has shown us who they are.

Now, let’s see who the Alabama voters are.

Stay tuned… to be continued 13 December 2017.

Can’t do that to a white guy in a cowboy hat—“Com’ on y’all, he’s one o’ us!”

Alabama Republican Party Chairwoman Terry Lathan warned earlier this week that any Republicans pledging to oppose Moore or back a write-in could be thrown out of the party and denied ballot access — a major threat to the quarter of the steering committee’s members, who are running for local office next year.

Along with a threat to any remaining republicans who may have had vestigial remnants of morals or principles.

If Moore wins future Alabama elective office seekers will have to brag about their questionable sexual exploits. His victory would seemingly prove such a history is more positive than negative should he prevail.

“Wahhhl, we got two choices boys. Either we go with Rex, our rabid, overweight, weiner dog with the mange and canine cognitive disorder, or we let a demoncrat win. Whaddaya say boys?”

“Okey dokey, punt is is, then.”

Why would the Alabama GOP want to disqualify Roy Moore, when he so much represents their beliefs and morals…a born-again asshole who wants to fuck little girls. Hell, this is the heart and spirit of the state. Sweet home, Alabama. Sad.

This might have some merit were it not for the fact that Ted Cruz has pulled his support of Moore. Say goodnight, Greysea.

The silence of Alabama Evangelicals on hebephilia speaks volumes. The LA Times mentioned the strange ministry of Matthew Chapman. When you understand what these Evangelicals are arguing, and I have a daughter, well, yuck. Taste the vomit in your mouth yuck. Josh Duggar yuck.

So opposing Moore can get you thrown out of the party, but Moore’s pedophilia is A-OK.

Got it.

“McConnell’s team is assessing the legal feasibility of convincing appointed Sen. Luther Strange (R-AL) to quit the race now in order to let Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey (R) call a new special election at a later date.”

That makes no sense, Strange is no longer in any “race” for this seat.

Apparently McConnell feels fine suspending a free and lawful election because his desired candidate might win…or lose? That’s freedom for ya! The second Rethugs go off of their guns and abortion script they get completely baffled!

Thinking about how many Funda-gelicals are OK with sexual assault, whether by the Nasturtium Narcissist or Roy Moore or other Republican politicians … we wonder how that can be consistent with their principles, but maybe there actually isn’t a contradiction. Many of these folks focus on different parts of the Bible than the Gospels. They love the Old Testament, particularly the books in which there is a lot of smiting and bad behavior by kings. The statements by Moore supporters that old men hooking up with young girls was sorta Biblical made me think: maybe they read the stories in the OT of polygamy, people buying multiple women from their fathers, old men hitting on their servant women and then sending them away when they have a child, and supposedly great rulers with many wives and concubines raping a married woman and then getting her husband killed – maybe they read this as justification for their baser instincts and think it really is OK when people like Moore do it. As long as they are white males, at least.

To many Alabamans, the answer is obviously “yes.” Which is why he was re-elected after being tossed from the court the first time.

It’s a threat against Alabama Republicans. They have no influence over national republicans.

I agree with you. Anything that supports men getting to do whatever the hell they want with women seems A-OK with these people, so long as the male was white and believes their brand of “Christianity.”

The parallel to Mormonism with plural wives and all that is very apt.
