Discussion: Alabama GOP Sticks By Roy Moore As National Party Grows Desperate To Dump Him

Even if they could get Strange and Ivey to participate in the scheme to trigger another special election by having Strange resign, and then that scheme passed legal muster, all that would accomplish would be to get them back to exactly where they are now.

The Alabama Republican Committee would have to disqualify Moore from running in the R primary for this new special election. If they didn’t, Moore would just run in that primary again, and probably win again. But If the committee was too afraid to disqualify Moore yesterday, to further a plan that doesn’t need Ivey or Strange to cooperate, and looks much less likely to be successfully challenged in court, why would anyone think they would find the courage to disqualify him in a far more dubious set of circumstances?

who is pressing trump on his silence over this fiasco?

I’m sure nobody. And as with other tough questions calling for a read decision, e.g. DACA legislation, a real alternative to the ACA, he’ll do nothing.

just to add further clarity -

Hebephilia is the sexual preference for early adolescent children (those roughly ages 11 to 14). Some evidence suggests that hebephilia is a distinct and discernable erotic age preference .

just the thought of connecting the concept of “erotic” and “Roy Moore” is off-the-charts revolting.

I was kind of surprised Donald hasn’t asked Roy to step aside, but I guess if he acknowledges Roy’s indiscretions he might have to answer for his, so he laying low. Jesus this needs to be used as much as possible against Donald along with all the Russian stuff to get him out.

I’d rather he’d gotten thrown out but this is really great. Now I don’t have to go into a long involved discussion with a conservative Christian about how, as a class, they are Category Five hypocrites. I can just hold his picture up just as I did Jim Bakker’s in the 80s.

It’s probably the only way.
