North, South, East or West…whenever one sees injustice and discrimination, one must speak up, even if its in your beloved southern domicile. True that. I’m from Alabama. My whole sister and half sister started doing genealogical research. They now call each other “sister cousins” … and laugh. Might was well laugh, nothing they/we can do about it now.
My great grandmother and great grandfather met at a family reunion. No, I am not kidding. This was before cars and they didn’t get out much. or something

Reminds me of an incident in the 1950s when a children’s book showed a black rabbit and a white rabbit. Great consternation in the South, with one Alabama legislator saying, “Anyone can see that these rabbits are integrated!”
