Love Franken!
He’s still witty and funny.
It’s amazing how much intelligence translates into humor.
Which explains why the RNC convention was such a humorless snooze…
If only decorum had allowed Sen. Franken to do his Supply-Side Jesus bit…
Sarah Silverman woke the crowd, aye? haha!
Sarah Silverman really riled up the Bernie or Busters by calling them “ridiculous.” (She was a Bernie supporter herself.) And then Paul Simon stunk the joint up “singing” one of his and Art G’s classics, “Bridge Over Troubled Water.”
yeah, Simon sounded awful. I had to turn the sound off. Pitchy doesn’t even begin to describe it.
Hoo boy, Franken did well… But I think Sarah Silverman kinda won that.
Egad, I thought, I hope I’m not the only one who was flummoxed and aghast at that.
You were not. I believe Paul Simon died three years ago, and no one told him. That’s how bad it sounded.
So… he can go on tour with Keith Richards?
Hey, he showed up, showed his support, and got to sleep with Princess Leia…
yeah, i suppose anything is better than Scott Baio singing the Charles in Charge theme song. Although I would have totally sang along had he really done that.
He doesn’t have the voice he did even ten years ago.
Then again, one of the things my grandfather often lamented was that as a musician, I was too young to have heard Sinatra sing live - to his dying day, he insisted that Sinatra’s voice after about 1970 was only a shadow of its true self, and based on the recordings, I have to agree with him.
It’s a shame, but it happens to all of us. I’m just glad Ann Wilson’s still got her range and power.
Sarah was understated and reserved (for Sarah), and utterly perfect.
Boy, do we need some comic relief about now. Also telling that he nailed The Vulgar Talking Yam with some real facts. The truth hurts, Donny.
arrendis! I love Ann Wilson’s voice!!! We were having a discussion the other day about best rock and roll vocalists…I said Wilson without even hesitating. Also mentioned Annie Lennox. We were debating male vocalists…who you got? Mine are 1. Freddie Mercury-voice of God. 2. Steve Perry-although he may be half bird, so that may help him. 3. and this is strictly personal, and you can probably surmise by my avatar. Maynard James Keenan. Love talking about this stuff. I’m a big music nerd.
I like the cut of your jib!
Loved Franken – and now on the stage, Cory ROCKS.
He’s seriously kicking some ass.
