Have you caught the appearances Ann and Nancy have done w/Gretchen Wilson (no relation)? She does great on the covers. Sheā€™s a Country artist, but letā€™s face it, modern Country is about late '70s-mid '80s rock w/out the synthesizers. Thereā€™s a great video out there of Gretchen and Nancy with Alice in Chains doing Barracuda*. Also on female vocalists: Taylor Momsen of The Pretty Reckless has an amazing voice, and gets a lot of versatility out of it (check out ā€˜Sweet Thingsā€™ - in one song, sheā€™s got her ā€˜normalā€™ singing voice, goes fuller and more soulful, then sweet and kittenish, and throws in some metal growling and roaring).

Hmmmā€¦ male vocalistsā€¦ I like your three. I do. Iā€™d also put Geoff Tate up there. Ozzy, too, though he doesnā€™t stretch it out much anymore. Chris Cornellā€™s damned impressive, too, when he wants to really show his range.
