Discussion: Aide: Christie ‘Flat Out Lied’ About Staff Not Being Involved In Bridgegate

Pro tip for the corrupt: if you’re going to engage in a conspiracy to destroy evidence, don’t do it in recoverable text messages.

The “Law and Order” candidate picks this guy…

No, he “flat out” lied. That’s a degree of lying that’s rarely excelled. Except in New Jersey politics.

Even Frumpt said recently that Krespie knew about bridgegate. People are saying you knew. Just saying.

“Nothing to see here folks, keep moving. That’s it, just move along. Keep moving, that’s right, nothing to see.”

So what charges might now be brought to bear on this bloviated jerk?

Well, if this text exchange was not released until today/yesterday, then it is pretty big news in my opinion.

The important thing is that she was texting someone about how he lied as it was happening. If she had said this a year after on the stand, it wouldn’t have carried nearly as much weight as they could say she’s just making it up for attention or retribution. But at the time, she’s working for him, and she’s acknowledging the lie as it happens.

I think this does have legs. Before now we had nothing but insinuations that Christie knew of this scheme all along.

As Trump’s AG, Christie will send this investigation into oblivion.

Oh, sorry, Christie, I forgot that THAT’S NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN.

PS, your state’s citizens hate you.

Trump has moved on to Trey Gowdy as his choice for USAG. It would be Gowdy Duty time at DOJ.

It’s Gowdy Duty Time.
It’s Gowdy Duty Time.
Don Trump and Gowdy too
Say Gowdy will Fuck you.
Let’s give a rousing cheer,
Cause Gowdy’s Duty’s near,
Benghazi is the show,
Democracy will go.

With all due apologies to the memory of one of my favorite childhood television shows.

Christie should be corresponding with a certain ex-gov of Illinois on tips for living in the “big house”. Seems he is going to need them.

We still only have insinuations. She provides no evidence that Christie knew of the bridge closing, so its a matter of “She texts/he says”…and with zero evidence, her text is not much to go on. The staffer she is texting doesn’t even acknowledge her statement that he is lying.

I agree that it does make things look worse…but its still perception without any evidence. Still no emails, no phone records, no list of people who were in the room with Christie while this plan was being hatched or even discussed. And my guess is…no such evidence is ever going to come to light.

So its more like imagining what legs would look like, than having actual legs.

Haha, you’re right. But if those legs existed…

It will raise more questions though, and perhaps something will come of it. We can only hope. Christie is an asshole blowhard.

Crimes aside, I wonder how to the almost always GOP-fawning press feels about this, one of their “moderate” golden boys flat out lying to them?

Hell, the whole state is practically a Superfund site!
Chris Christie has managed to tarnish THAT.

Just picture his role in the Trump dream team:

Well, too bad, Krispie. Hard to be the AG when you’re doing time.

I’m a New Yorker with family ties and friends who reside in New Jersey. Yes, McGreevey’s major error was appointing a man he was having an affair with as the NJ homeland security director, even though he was completely unqualified. I don’t think folks in New Jersey would have given him a pass on blatant patronage like that especially not long after 9/11 when security was foremost in people’s minds. As far as his gay outing is concerned even though this was in 2004 when gay hate was peaking with marriage amendments on the ballot in several states I think Jersey residents would have brushed it off. They were more concerned about having competent government. His replacement Codey was the real deal with me.

Agreed, Codey stepped in and did a great job for us. I wonder, did they push him aside in favor of Corzine? Or, did he just not want to run again? Either way, Codey came out of that scandal looking like a hero and loyal New Jersian.

I remember at the time reading that Corzine wanted the governorship because he had a boatload of money to spread around to the various Democratic organizations. He might of been bored with the senate as well. His one term was meh with the car wreck etc. hence the opening for Lard Lad.

I’m rooting for JC Mayor Steve Fullop in 2017. My friends live there and he has been quite good. His background is quite interesting; Iraq war vet, Goldman Sachs, JC council member and mayor.

Yeah. I hear it’s going to be Sweeney or Fullop. I don’t care who it is, as long as they have a D by their name. If there is any threat of Dems losing, however, I hope they are smart enough to get Booker to run.
