CLEVELAND — Longtime Donald Trump ally Roger Stone laid into Ted Cruz minutes after his refusal to endorse the GOP nominee on Wednesday, calling him a “dumb son of a bitch” and a “despicable human being.”
Stone, who spoke to The Hill as he left the Quicken Loans Arena, warned that the Texas senator’s public unwillingness to back Trump would come back to haunt him.
“By Ted Cruz not supporting the nominee, he’s exempted himself from real conservatives,” he said. “No voter gives a crap about what Ted Cruz does. The only person this hurts is Ted Cruz.”
He continued to excoriate Cruz, whom delegates showered with boos as they realized he wasn’t going to endorse Trump during his speech to the convention.
“Ted Cruz thinks he’s Ronald Reagan. T he problem is he’s not anything near Reagan in terms of being an inspiring, likable figure,” Stone said. “He’s a dumb son of a bitch who thinks he’s smarter than everybody else.”
“He’s a despicable human being,” he added
Yes, Roger. Cruz has “exempted himself from real conservatives”. In favor of a guy who HAS no beliefs, positions or principles other than those of the moment.
"Whether you want me to or not, I’m not gonna lie to you, and what I said last night is what I believe,” Cruz said.

That could also be a confession from Stone, one of the most oily, creepy, disgusting human beings on the planet. If humanity were an ass, Nixon worshiper and dirty trickster (*He actually has a large tattoo of Nixon’s head on his back.), Stone is where you would stick the thermometer.
He really is the perfect Trump ally.
I think his reasons will sway some voters.
It’s much smarter for him to make this personal than political, because no one can deny that Trump was a complete schmuck.

I think Cruz is a detestable human being whose political objectives would destroy much of what is good about our country, but in this particular matter I actually agree and sympathize with him. Which I hope is the last time I ever have to state that.

It may be in part personal, but it also very political. Cruz has his eye on 2020,and is betting Trump goes down in flames. People’s memories are short. They will have forgotten all about this by then.
That’s an even more frightening prospect than Trump as president – CRUZ winning a general election, in a redistricting year!
Cruz voters (and perhaps other NeverTrumpers) have now officially got cover if he keeps holding out this way. And there is a lot of incentive to do this for a guy who has 2020 in mind.
“Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican.” I guess it is fair to say that Cruz and Stone are sinners. Both need to pray for forgiveness at the alter of St. Ronnie of Raygun.
