Discussion: After RNC Firestorm, Cruz Refuses To Say Whether He’s Voting Trump

Much like his rally for Kim Davis.

I guess it is fair to say that Cruz and Stone are sinners.

It’s also fair to say that Trump should be heading the list of sinners who’ve broken Reagan’s Eleventh Commandment. And he’s going to reap what he’s sown over the last twelve months.

Projection, Projection, Projection… Huck hopes to get a new chance at Fox News…

Interesting thing about St Ronnie’s Eleventh. He only invented that in 1980. St Ronnie had no problem trashing Gerald Ford in 1976.

Oh, that’s right. Ol’ Huck’s people wouldn’t let Cruz anywhere near loony Kim.

I think Cruz knows that most of the GOP voted against Trump and that even if some are coming around in the name of “party unity”, it will be a different ball game next election. He wouldn’t have gotten this far if he didn’t thrive on being reviled - like Trump, he doesn’t distinguish between good press and bad. In a few years, he’s going to be the guy who stood up for his party against Trump. Remember what happened with W.?

Whether this happened by accident or on purpose, it serves both parties: Trump in the short term, Cruz in the long.

Roger Ailes: “Thank you Ted, one good turn deserves another”.

To be fair, if Trump were to win, I don’t think that would matter anymore.

I have been saying this is like the Game of Thrones but it is really more like Survivor on a large canvas without the immunity idols. You know the TV “reality” show where self centered contestants try to “outwit, outplay and outlast” their opponents. Narcissism as a positive lifestyle.

Seriously. I don’t remember seeing a worse shit show convention than this.

1964 came close. Goldwater supporters booing Nelson Rockefeller.

I’ve posted this before vis a vis Cruz, but it’s worth mentioning and remembering. Cruz won his Senate seat in 2012 with just 600,000 votes in a state of 29 million people. That’s less than 4% of eligible voters. It was through a set of very bizarre circumstances that likely will not occur again that he won. Of course the most rabid wing nuts turned out. We’ll see if more people love him in a couple of years. I doubt it.

The 1968 Democratic convention was worse.

What do the 1964 Republican and 1968 Democratic conventions have in common? Both parties candidates went down in flames.

Ah, the good ol’ days.

I’d call it a shit storm, given that Cruz and Trump are both big turds. Debating who comes out smelling better here is useless because - as a dear, wise aunt of mine used to say - if you stir up shit, you can wind up getting some on you. Both these men - and their party - stand for shit and love stirring up shit. And both think their shit don’t stink. But it does.

Trump is on a lengthy winning streak and a certain portion of the population likely believes that he will be the next president.

Please wait awhile…these things take time…
