Discussion: After Meeting With Sheriff, Bundy Says He Still Won't Leave Oregon Refuge

Discussion for article #244410

Let the local community go in with pitchforks , that’ll soon clear them out .

There is a REALLY, really easy way to get these morons to leave; Turn off the TV cameras and send all the Media home.
With no Media glare to bathe in, these Yahoos will all drift back to their boring, tiny, unimportant lives.

Well…he’s been warned. I don’t imagine the Feds will just walk away this time.

Yep that there Sheriff is the highest authority, except when he does not say what you want to hear.

The Bundys knew the Sheriff could not address their issues. They were playing around, buying time and hoping that other militia types woul dget their government checks in time to get out there to help them.

I keep reading comments elsewhere that say, these guys are peaceful, so we should just wait them out. I still don’t see an armed occupation of a building as peaceful- especially when you make threats and state your not there to shoot at anyone, but to die. That’s not peaceful at all.

You want them to leave sheriff?

Kick the media out! No tv cameras or microphones should do the trick!

Who knew telling the sheriff to pound sand was so easy?

These yahoos think the military is going to send snake eaters when all it will take is a quick pass by an Apache gunship. No need to expose troops to gun fire when a Hellfire missile can get er done.

Two words: TEAR. GAS.

Turn off the electric, no food in. Then sit back and watch how deeply their convictions run.

‘until residents gain control of Harney County’

…so, apparently the argument comes down to giving a few local “residents” the power to exploit without outside intervention what is now owned by 300+ million citizens of the USA.

Bundy’s Bozo’s “Magic Ownership” demand.

AND THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT AND IS BEING IGNORED BY THE OLDSTREAM MEDIA AND INTERNET ALIKE!!!

The worst part about it is that they are the worst possible stewards of this ground, and they think because they have found a way to feed cattle on unbelievably marginal ground, they have somehow proven their management abilities, when just their presence there as ranchers means there has always been a profound failure of proper management at a more fundamental level.

If the uninitiated among you were aware of just how many acres of public land it takes to feed one steer, and the destruction it causes to that fragile ecosystem, versus what the normal, landowning or leasing farmer uses, the thought these western range rustlers somehow are entitled to that property would seem even more preposterous.

There are much more fundamental things at stake than ownership, of any sort, and booting these types off the property should extend to the whole place, permanently.

Put environmentalists in charge of our national lands, and let the greedy exploiters fight for their share from that point down, instead of the other way around.

The Sheriff should give them a definite time deadline to surrender for arrest, or be forcibly arrested or killed. The pussies would mess their pants if faced with the real threat of force.

You know, when it was reported that the mouseketeers would leave if the folks wanted them to - it was just too pat. They have been treated as “guests” up to this point. Now they want to stay. Hmmm. Last call, folks, time to go home. Cut the power, lock the gates and get the paddy wagons ready.

The Budy domestic terror group is on Federal property…just like Timothy McVeigh attacked and bombed Federal property in Oklahoma City.

We didn’t leave Timothy McVeigh to be the problem for the locals - and it’s time we stop relying on the locals to deal with these terrorists on their own!

We didn’t rely on just the locals in San Bernadino to deal with their tragic domestic terrorist shooting - and it’s time we stop leaving these Buncy terrorists for the locals to deal with.

It it time for our nation to stand with Oregon against these terrorists who refuse to leave…stop allowing no-go zones in Oregon and Nevada!

This YouTube from the US FWS gives an overview of the work that the Feds have been doing with the ranchers in Harney County. This explains, partly, why the locals are so upset with these idiots at the refuge now - much work has been done to have cooperative agreements between the USFWS and the ranchers to protect the lands/wildlife AND the ranching way of life. These current actions may turn USFWS away from making further agreements with locals - although I think everyone down there understands these terrorists do not represent them.

I’m a native Oregonian. living on the “blue” side of the state, and can’t put into words how pissed I am at this situation, as well as many others I know on this side of the mountains who love to recreate in the Harney county area. Maybe I’m wrong, but those of us on the west side are getting angry enough, and have enough money, to lobby for stronger laws protecting those lands. More harm than good is being done by these criminals.

Appreciate the opportunity to rant…
