Discussion: After Meeting With Sheriff, Bundy Says He Still Won't Leave Oregon Refuge

We should send Trump in to negotiate.

Not to solve the problem or anything, just to get rid of him for a little while.

Won’t leave? Fine. Let’s take Charleton Heston’s fine saying as instructional: “You can have my rifle when you pry it from my cold, dead fingers”.

Time to send in the cavalry.

Their refusal to leave probably translates to “our grifting opportunity isn’t dried up yet. Some fools are still sending us free cash”. But seriously, turn off the cameras and media attention already. If you feed the animals, it just encourages them.

Put environmentalists in charge of our national lands, and let the greedy exploiters fight for their share from that point down, instead of the other way around.

So glad you stopped by again =)

It seems so obvious that the way to treat criminals caught in the act is to treat them like criminals caught in the act. As far as I know we don’t allow criminals caught in the act to saunter down to the local Starbucks for a coffee break while we wait for them to come back for another heart to heart conversation. I’m not advocating that these particular criminals be treated as badly as we treat black people driving a car with a burned out turn signal, a truly heinous crime, but I can’t see the downside to just arresting them, loading them in a paddy wagon and driving them to the jail house.

That’s when the Sheriff should have taken Bundy with him.

“Following the meeting, Bundy told reporters that the militiamen will not
leave the refuge until residents gain control of Harney County”

What does that even mean? These guys don’t even have a coherent reason to be “protesting” anything. They wanted to make a name for themselves, they wanted to get in on some of the right wing grift and they wanted to shoot a human being. Now that is ruined and they are left looking like the losers they are. Boo friggin hoo.

Get the popcorn ready.

Thanks for the local insight.

For the east coast, Oregon might as well be Patagonia. The west is perceived as CA, Seattle, Vegas. Lots of mountains and empty desert. Oh, and the Grand Canyon
