One of my (sad to say) Senators, David Perdue, was at the “shithole countries” meeting. I’m looking forward to calling his office this morning, and finding out what the Senator said in response to these racist comments—both to the President’s face, and generally to the public.
Deplorable.

I forwarded a HuffPo article about this “shithole” business and “more Norwegian immigrants” to a Norwegian colleague of mine in Oslo.
His response? “…Typical example of a person too stupid to understand he is in fact stupid….”
Ah, yes. And Europe is laughing its hiney off about the make-believe jets. From here in Germany:

To the rest of the world, the US President is the face of America. How the president behaves, what he says, how he treats foreign leaders and their countries and people, what his policies are…he represents America and Americans (I use the male pronoun because, very unfortunately, we haven’t yet a female president). Whether it’s Kennedy, Nixon, Reagan, Bush, Obama, Trump…doesn’t matter. Many of us here say Trump is the face of the Republican party, they’re Trump’s party whether they want him to be or not.To the rest of the world, Trump is America, no matter how many of us don’t want him to be. To the rest of the world, Trump is who America selected and wanted - he’s not some anomaly. What an embarrassment. Can our image as a world leader ever be restored? It took Obama a long time after Bush. It will take even longer next time.
Trump is truly a sh#t hole excuse for a human being let alone a President.

Really. We don’t always see or understand the depth of the connection. It’s because he gives voice to a whole segment of the population who until he came along felt the only way they could really express their true feelings was to scrawl them on the walls of public bathrooms.
Will Switzerland stand up for equality, dignity, and peace by NOT allowing Trump into the country to attend Davos? Or will the Swiss be like the Republican leadership under Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan and do nothing which is the same as enabling the US version of Adolf Hitler.
Putin + Trump = a global money laundering operation that is financing their neo-Nazi programs and ambitions. Funny how Putin moved Russians troops into Syria as soon as Trump was elected…it’s all about ethnic cleansing with Putin and Trump!

C. GOP arms will be twisted - and GOPs in attendance will then speak up and say “never heard the word Shithole” -
D. Trump will seek to flip the tables - scream in Faux outrage - claim it was a total fabrication & he has been attacked by liars - Fake news blah blah …
He has made America a place where ignorant assholes and mugwumps can freely express their racism.
