I guess history does repeat or at least rhyme.

40,900 migrant children in custody.

Let that sink in, people.

Un-fucking-believable.

The tone deaf cruelty is the point.

The lack of collective outrage on this is troubling. We have control of the House. We need to be able to shine a light on this. Why is it that there was more attention paid to this last summer than this one?

Nah. This stuff should be folded into impeachment. Our homeland security committee isn’t being aggressive enough.

Here’s what I don’t understand, or maybe I just think these numbers are actually being low-balled…In December of 2018 articles were written about there being 15,000 children in US custody who were being put in detention facilities around the country…so how the fuck did it go from 15,000 to close to 41,000 in approximately six months? Can we even believe these numbers when there’s no willingness to cooperate with any Congressional oversight on the number of children the government is housing and responsible for? What is this administration doing with these children to unite them with family? Where are the courts demanding compliance with these children’s human rights? Who the fuck is following up on any of this?

The last I recall they couldn’t even account for the thousands of children that came before they say they were tracking the numbers in their care. No one is being held accountable in this maladministration. NO ONE!!!

Also, it supposedly went from 6,500 in the Fall of 2017, to 15,000 in December of 2018 to 41,000 now. These are all children ffs. This is tRump’s white nationalist agenda on steroids and its not only making everything worse, its a fucking national disgrace for our country.

Damned seriously! I was just getting ready to suggest that the family separation policies and children internment of immigrants seeking asylum here is getting awfully close to being a mirror image of Boko Haram, and that is a Grade A terrorist organization. Not much difference in my book!

Serious question: Does President Optics remember we had this episode in our history? And are we forgetting ourselves that the cruelty is the point? I think the best point of leverage here is the Senate, because you can’t gerrymander a whole state.

OT but curiously satisfying.

Republicans leave no atrocity untouched. They must always improve on their last human rights masterpiece?

To them, it’s a competition. They must be remembered.
