Discussion: Adele Spox: Donald Trump 'Had No Permission' To Use Her Music

Discussion for article #245349

Why canā€™t the ā€œBusinessā€ Republicans ever respect the basics of copyright law?

Seems like theyā€™re always getting in trouble for this.

Hint: If it ainā€™t Ted Nugent, donā€™t play it at your rally.

Adele heard it screaming out Trumpā€™s nameā€¦

Why doesnā€™t tRump contact Lee Greenwood? Iā€™m sure Lee would be more than happy to have his awful music used by the short-fingered vulgarian. And Dog knows he could sure use the attention.

GOP politicians running for office have absolutely no respect for anyone at all except their own donors.

LOLā€¦when youā€™re a douche, the whole world hates you. These idiots are going to be stuck with nothing left by child-diddler Ted Nugent, a methbilly with a banjo and those freaks who sing the Christian rock on those weird albums that get advertised at 4:00 a.m. on A&E during the one hour a day theyā€™re not running back to back Law & Order episodes.

Hahaā€¦not so muchā€¦just a night person lol

This might be on account of Ed King,Gary Rossington and the Van Zant estate wanting to remain quiet, but Skynard and Dee Snyder (Twisted Sister) are the only two known artists that havenā€™t sent cease and desist letters to the Trump campaign.

For some strange reason, Trump also used Skyfall at these rallies. Why?

shrug

side-notes: The commentators are asking why she hasnā€™t sued yet.To think that it was only ā€˜yesterdayā€™ā€¦

I imagine I can as sing as beautifully as she does when I drive around town singing along with the album.

It just occurred to me: Are the USA Freedom Girls overbooked and canā€™t make the tRump rallies?

Copyright laws are so big corporate oligarchs can smash little independent start-up (or upstart) potential competitors with massive, crippling legal fees. They are not to be used against the oligarchs themselves.

Adele probably doesnā€™t hold hers personally anyway. The record company probably does.

All the musicians need to join together and proclaim that any unauthorized of their music will cost $10,000 per song with the proceeds to be donated to the opposing party. That might slow down some of the copyright infringement.

One of the fun things about Law and Order reruns is watching the evolution of personal communication. In the first years, the detectives ran to the pay phone to call in, then they had these walkie-talkie things, and then later still shoe box size cell phones. Pagers were in there somewhere. Eventually we got flip phones followed by no-flips, and then iPhone types. Now weā€™re sending data and photos as we speak. Itā€™s been an interesting 20+ years.

Strangely, none of the campaigns havenā€™t paid a visit to the Rabbitt estate executors.

Only a matter of timeā€¦

Haha good point! I still get a faint giggle when I see them use a rotary phone on tv. Itā€™s like a window back into my when I was a small child.

Donā€™t we all? I could do the Mary Martin cast album, male and female parts, of South Pacific before grade school in costumes tossed together from the old clothes binā€¦Needless to say, in early 50s Kentucky, the parents had to take steps to keep me from being burned as a witch.

Hereā€™s one I just wrote and will sell to the Trump campaign for just next monthā€™s rent:

"Hey hey whaddya say?

Vote Trump or you pay

Donald Trump will build a wall

So rapists all will not call

(melody) Say Trump, Trump. OK?

'Cause whaddya say today.

Vote real man spelt M-A-N

not L-G-B-T fagman

(melody reprise) Hey hey whaddya say
Vote Trump or you pay"
