Discussion for article #237124
Oh, so now fathers are going to be interested, after getting to 50 yards away from a woman when she utters those two words: “I’m pregnant.”
Well, you know how this is- the Father is more important than the mother or the fetus or even the inevitable child.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t even require proof that a guy is indeed the father. It’s just another way to intimidate women. These guys just can’t help themselves when it comes to forcing their beliefs on people.
It seems like it’s more intended to intimidate the doctors until women run out of options. The women are simply disregarded as baby machines for their menfolk.
Walker keeps digging, long after the hole was too deep to climb out of.
But I’d love to thank the person who handed Li’l Scottie the larger shovel.
Ahhh, yes. Tort Reform Republican Style. Getting rid of all those frivolous lawsuits.
Indeed. Walker is a classic example of what happens when someone who never learned critical thinking skills is given the power to oppress others. Which is exactly what he is doing. Shamefully, not one GOPer will call him out on it.
The emotional distress of not getting their child support payments deducted from their paychecks for the next 18 years.
This whole thing is stupid, it would not have any practical consequences, it’s just throwing some meat to the wolves of certain constituencies.
What about tort reform?
What about it?
It’s a right-wing diversion from things that really matter.
Face it, it is a FORCED BIRTH Bill, not an Anti-Abortion bill.
According to the Reich-Wingers: If a slut get knocked up, the fetus is the sole property of the MAN (until it is born, then it’s all the SLUT’S problem.)
Ahh, Republican Family Values ®
Walker will soon give paternal rights to any asshole who had a one night stand, which resulted in pregnancy, which in turn gives more rights to a man over the woman he impregnated, who ultimately has the burden to decide what she’ll be in a position to choose for the rest of her life.
And if that pregnancy is a result of date rape or any other form of violent rape, a woman will have to put her decision to have an abortion on hold until a court gets the case in time for this asinine and arbitrary concocted 20 week cut-off.
How is this even constitutional?? Fuck Walker and his holy roller political paternalism. I’m sick of these religious fascists.
Every time Walker opens his pie hole and espouses yet another self-serving policy idea I get “emotionally distressed.” Do I get to sue??
I’m curious – do people think there’s a breaking point at which women will start to punish these Teahadi Republican governors who are trying to one-up each other with grotesque appeals to anti-choice nutballs? Or will women voters (and more to the point, nonvoters who should be voting) just keep taking it?
At this point, Roe v. Wade is effectively null and void in most of the country. They’ve won. They’ve won because they’re incredibly organized and persistent – I remember the creepy fetus picture people taking over our local school boards in the '80s, when I was a kid. Then they took over congress, and most of the statehouses. They’ve just never let up. Hell, beyond these legislative maneuvers, the anti-choice movement has conducted a straight-up terror campaign on American soil, and no one can say it hasn’t been effective. But they’ve also won because plenty of women vote with them, or don’t vote at all. Are a plurality of ladyparts-havers just cool with this stuff, even in very close (and recently bright blue) states like Wisconsin?
Yes, and the women would be dragged into any ensuing court case. Both groups are being intimidated.
Rape 'em and bill 'em.
Koch Baby Scotty Wanker’s opinion of the value of women in all its glory right there.
Seriously, if you’re a woman and you vote for this greasy fuck, you’d be better off just closing the garage door and turning on the engine.
So, I wonder why the exception for rape and incest. Don’t these men have rights too??
Everything about these laws are meant to intimidate and humiliate the woman. But in this case with the added:
The bill would also allow the mother to sue the doctor, according to the Huffington Post.
it seems that it throws down the gauntlet by increasing the doctor’s possibility of being publicly and financially harmed if he dares offer this legal procedure.
