A rising Republican star is anyone who can denigrate people that dont look like themself, while getting a minimum of media attention doing it. Of course, as soon as the attention comes, fun’s over because people are exposed as the bigots/racists they are…but R’s sure can dream!

Representative Schock is clearly quite mentally ill. He needs medication and isolation, not publicity for his symptomatic speech.
The only thing racially charged is this article. If the race of the people in question isn’t clear, it certainly cannot be mocking a particular race. It appears to be mocking people who were having a public altercation. This article is nonsense from beginning to end.

Thought he was talking about some trashier part of Capitol Hill neighborhood. Nope. 14th and W is one of the more heavily gentrifying neighborhoods in the city. My guess is he provoked the confrontation. People do however refer to black youth in DC as hood rats. We also refer to the young true believers that flock to Capitol Hill as interns as Hill Rats.
