“I want rustlers, cutthroaths, murderers, bountyhunters, desperados, mugs, thugs, pugs,…and methodists”

Waiting for the Southern Baptists… and the Assemblies, and the sheep-fleecing megachurches to do the same.

They won’t because they don’t want to offend Trump fans and damage their bottom lines.

I watched it last night. That’s all I can think of when I hear “Methodists.” And I was a Methodist.

Lots of religious groups speaking out on this. Franklin Graham noped out! It took a while, but Trump finally found a line they wouldn’t cross. Good to see, however belatedly.

Can’t wait for the others faiths to damn them all to hell.

How ironic that the U.S. Attorney General has been pretty much given a pass for making a mockery of the Constitution, but may go down in flames for offending the United Methodist Church’s Book of Discipline.

Only 600? That’s less than 1 per kid-in-a-cage. No need to pay attention to them, Beauregard.

Christians behaving like Christians! Good for them!

In case this isn’t widely known, Baptists consider Methodists to be wild, crazy, liberal harlots. This will do nothing to convince the twisted conservatives in the even more twisted christianist community that Drumpf is doing anything wrong. There may be a few tepid grumbles by Baptists, but it will be nothing to worry about for Orange Oaf and his band of child abusers. This is all feeding directly into right-wing xenophobic mania, so it’ll keep happening. If Dems cannot make hay out of this gross abuse of kids, then they don’t deserve to win.

I guess those Methodists aren’t very tolerant.

Ok, we got it, let’s cut to directly to the real desire behind GOP’s punishment policies.

In the case of Baptists, a distinction should be drawn between the Southern Baptists and other kinds, those broke away because their support of slavery. They were recently cheering when Pence was listing Trump’ s achievements at their convention.

[/quote]I have a friend who was a Methodist minister, who left the Methodists to join the Presbyterians so he could feel more comfortable drinking a beer after a round of golf.

Also because he’s not a member of their church. He is a member of the Methodist church.

Every freaking Democrat in Congress should have been flaying that cretin alive for that bible bs. What’s the bible got to do with US law? Does the Constitution pay due deference to the freaking bible, and if so, which one exactly?

I just hate these things masquerading as human beings. But I think I hate their enablers even worse, like the turtle and nunes and roger why is he on CSPAN stone and KAC and smokey sarah and all the rest.

The only good thing about this nightmare is that we’ve got a good list of monsters identified for rounding up and incarceration later when the new management takes over.

Not joking a bit, this will change things… sometimes power is a sneaky, subtle thing, it resides silently, waiting to bust loose.

Move the Methodists, you move America.
