Discussion: 600 Methodists File Complaint Against Sessions For 'Zero Tolerance' Policy

One would hope that crimes against humanity are sufficient grounds for excommunication even without the use of Scripture to justify those crimes.

In case this isn’t widely known, Baptists consider Methodists to be wild, crazy, liberal harlots.

You know, Hillary is a Methodist…

Poor Darth Keebler…been a bad bad elf. BAD ELF!

I don’t know shit from shinola about Methodists, but this sounds like kindof a big deal if you’re a religiot.

When you think of Methodists, think Goodwill Industries, and the Salvation Army. The founder, John Wesley, promoted not only feeding the poor, but teaching them to read, write, and managing their finances, along with meeting their basic needs. Methodists have missionaries all over the world, so Sessions is totally off base by promoting such heartless actions. Methodists are right up there with Catholic Charities, Lutheran Family Services, and any number of charitable groups.

Also coal miners. Wesley preached all over England with no response until he got to the downtrodden miners in Wales and they got him immediately. Big in coal country here too, back in the day.

I’m not sure where that comes from, because the Bush’s were Methodists, too.

FFS, if Sessions gets drummed out of the Methodist Church, Jim Jeffress is waiting in Dallas with open arms. Franklin Graham doesn’t speak for all the Southern Baptists.

Time for the Methodists and USA to ex-communicate Sessions and Trump from the USA, and rescind their citizenship. Abandon these criminals in the wilderness so they will finally “listen to the word of God, like it or not”, as the Bible tells me so.

I’m going to bet that Barbara was the Methodist and the guys were MINO’s. I’m a former Methodist, now Zen Deist…

Hey Jeff, you like Bible verses? I’ve got a couple for you. Habakkuk 2:9-12:

Woe to him who builds his house by unjust gain, setting his nest on high to escape the clutches of ruin!
You have plotted the ruin of many peoples, shaming your own house and forfeiting your life.
The stones of the wall will cry out, and the beams of the woodwork will echo it.
“Woe to him who builds a city with bloodshed and establishes a town by injustice!

So which Church will deliver a similar message to Trump? Would that be the First Birdie and Eagle Church meeting on the lawns of Mar-a-Lago every Sunday?

More seriously, this points out that as much as so called religious people love Trump, he actually has never attended services on a regular basis. Doesn’t matter to me, but it should to them.

To repeat myself, a number of mainstream churches have condemned this policy. There’s really a building consensus from the religious world. They’ve been a great disappointment and revealed themselves as power-hungry hypocrites by supporting him, but they aren’t going along with this.

This is the strategy to end Mueller’s probe.

The smart people behind Trump’s treasonous takeover know that, given enough time, the probe will reveal their identities. They suspect that a Saturday Night Massacre will actually be a bridge too far. So, how to fire Mueller in a way that everyone will find palatable?

  1. Give Sessions a really long leash to do the worst thing he wants to do. This creates a legitimate pretext for firing his ass.
  2. Trump fires Sessions and reverses the policy, pleasing everyone.
  3. Trump appoints a new Attorney General, relying on his nose for corruption and the fact that his shadowy backers have taken care to ensure that the new hire is willing to fire Mueller. This is the entire job description. They probably pick someone who has already publicly stated “witch hunt” / “wrap it up”.
  4. The GOP congress confirms the appointee, because it’s an open secret that person will end their nightmare.
  5. The new AG fires Mueller.

Now, where do you, a reasonable person object? Should Trump have left Sessions in office, effectively paying for the probe with the suffering of children?

I really hope Mueller is close-to-ready, and that he has a good backup plan.

The article I read said they were not cheering as Pence slavered over Trump. That they were actually disgusted. The SB are changing leadership due to the younger gen taking control. That because of the exodus of parishioners they are experiencing the new leadership does not want to align with any political party or get involved in politics. It is finally sinking into their addled brains that fewer and fewer want to have anything to do with their right wing hateful ways. The money is drying up. Opps.

Repent Sessions, repent.

When I looked a few minutes ago, this was the top news story on a Montgomery, Alabama TV website.

There’s an interesting article in the Atlantic that suggests that the Southern Baptists are re-thinking their position as an arm of the Republican party because they’ve lost on the order of a million members since adopting that strategy.

I believe that Laura is a Methodist, and brought W over. The family has mostly been Episcopal over the generations.
