Discussion: 5 Points On What Trump’s Bogus Elections Commission Is Really About

If you missed this brief follow up with the Economist reporter who interviewed DJT, be sure to listen. It’s only about 7 minutes long, but combined with Trump’s water cooler gossip eighth Russian spies the oval office, it speaks volumes about his incapacity. The description of how Trump is treated by those around him is remarkable too.

  1. Stop Obama’s 3rd term and make sure those black and brown people don’t get to vote

i have commented repeatedly how the issue of stealing elections and the fraud involved was the most pressing issue facing the country.
if you cant get voters to cast ballots and if those ballots dont get counted or thrown away or who knows what else…all the resistance in the world wont matter.

and those people who have spent 20 years fighting this issue ALL AGREE that many many elections won by republicans are open to being fraudulent.

2018 and 2020 will literally be the last chance to fix this travesty…for if the repiglicons manage to suppress votes and win elections as they have been doing…democrats and progressives can kiss their hopes gone for good!

Another point of this Bizzaro World commission is that voting no longer matters aside from enforcing the autocrat’s regime, like the United Russia party in Putin’s Russia. The fate of the party gets tied to the autocrat. In 2011, United Russia enjoyed 140% voter turnout in the Samara region. The people were blamed for loving Putin too much. If Putin were to go, other parties would emerge. The GOP’s general acceptance of Trump is stunning as they are accepting without pushback the role of a docile rubber stamp. A United Russia of America.

We’re going to need a little humor today:

Somewhat OT: For those who haven’t seen it yet, a new (shit)twitterstorm over at the White House — somebody’s feeling the pressure.

ETA. Oh, yes, and the Russians, of course, declare this all “fake news”.

The “5 points” seem to miss the primary purpose of this Presidential Commission – to prove that 5 million people voted illegally and that every last one of them voted for Hillary and therefore Trump actually won the popular vote by several million votes. Nothing else matters to Trump.

Putin is up for reelection (Yeah, I know) next year. By that time I hope we see some dramatic turn around. I’d love to see that guy go down, he won’t by election of course, but somebody needs to take him out somehow.

No. I’m not scared. The Daredevil will save us.

It’s that man in the White House. How can it be anything other than bogus?

But thanks are still due to Tierney for wrapping it all up in a neat little package I can point at for people with three or more functioning neurons. Of course, that eliminates all Trumpets and Trumpettes, and most Republicans, but it can’t be avoided. Someone who can’t read and understand simple declarative sentences won’t get anything out of this.

And it won’t matter what the commission ultimately finds for them to run full bore ahead with even more perverse suppression tactics. The fact that this commission is even being formed is all they need to hammer the propaganda home that voter fraud is extensive and must be enacted in the most draconian and targeted ways possible. Wait until RWM outlets just run vague, substance-less, Enquirer-like stories across their screens all day and every day to the tune of ‘Election Commission Finds Possible Evidence of Rampant Voter Fraud!’ as a headline for an article that just talks about minor and routine things they’re looking into. That’s how this all works. All they’ll need is an example of one guy in one state in one small town who wrote an “A” that looks like an “O” when he filled out his name on his voter registration form (if that) and we get whole communities locked out of any adequate way to cast a vote. This isn’t hyperbole. This is the plan. Trump’s just a useful idiot they can easily manipulate into forming these kinds of things because of his fragile ego.

Do you think anyone in his tiny sphere has informed him yet that he lost the popular vote by over 11 million votes? Because he seems to have fixated on the number of votes by which he lost the pop vote to HRC but that’s hardly the only people to have voted for someone other him.

Donald Trump Says He Has The Right To Share Info With The Russians

Who needs a HuffPo report for that info? As @lizzymom posted above, PeePee himself has tweeted out that he “as president” had the absolute right to “share with Russia”.

Why waste money on a commission? Just declare the results you want to be true like Trump always does.

The only way this traitor is staying in office is by giving other NeoNazis Republicans what they want.

Beside the fact this is something only a fascist would do, Trump is obsessed with being a “popular” president which he can never be. It’s really the mark of a little mind seeking something he knows he’s already corrupted in some way…with the Russians no doubt.

Good catch - I guess I’ve fallen into the trap of being so overwhelmed with rage that I’m missing the nuanced stuff that gets right to the heart of these matters.
