Discussion: 150 Years After Its Founding, KKK Says US Politics Are Going Its Way

Thank you Donald J. Trump for Making America White (sheeted) Again.

Klan leaders told the AP that most of today’s groups remain small and operate independently, kept apart by disagreements over such issues as whether to associate with neo-Nazis, hold public rallies or wear the KKK’s trademark robes in colors other than white…

I’m thinking … PASTELS!!

“White power!” they chanted in unison. “Death to the ungodly! Death to our enemies!”

Now where have I heard that last bit before? I’m Iraqing my brain.

> "[I]ts leaders now present a public front that is more virulent than violent."

While less life-threatening, it is the emotional aspect of violence that is the most debilitating and lasting aspect of most physical violence. And even though physical violence may not be present, the threat of it is implicit in most emotional intimidation.

Trump: It brings tears to my eyes when I see my fellow Whites so happy. Only if The Fuhrer was around today.

When the Trump 2016 Insanity subsides, the final analysis of the damage he has wrought to the Nation and the world will be difficult to calculate.

But some “journalists” profited…right, Les?

Jesus and Hitler side-by-side.

Are you paying attention, clergy? Do you see with whom you are politically aligned?

The KKK will always be with us in some form - racism being what it is.

But too many good people have sacrificed too much for them to ever get a real foothold in American society. As the President days, the arc of the universe bends towards justice.

Choosing satin over cotton especially in the south is not a smart move. Just saying.

About 20 years ago, Forrest Sawyer hosted a four part series on TLC, I believe, called Racism in America. One of the segments featured a black man and a KKK leader who through interaction became close enough for the Klan leader to ask the black man to become godfather to one of his children. Needless to say my mouth dropped wide open. The entire series was very good, covering an interesting set of issues concerning racism. Forrest is one of the few journalists I’ve maintained any respect for. Especially after his panel discussions following 9/11 on NBC.

What you say is true, but in a way, I’m glad the underbelly of racism is being turned over. I’ve grown weary of hearing about post-racial America. There are too many things that still need addressing before that can become a reality.

I guess now we know what year Trump means with his “Take America back” rhetoric – 1860.

Joining the Klan is as easy as filling out an online form — provided you’re white and Christian.

So ironically, Jesus couldn’t be a member.
