If I were voting in person, and a bomb was found, the absolute last person I would want handling that bomb would be an ICE agent. Based on their handling of other threats, I would hope to have time to send farewell texts to friends and family.

It seems Markwayne Mullin is saying that the Trump administration has decapitated the FBI (assisting local law enforcement when needed) so it can no longer serve the function for which it was created.

The feds do not have jurisdiction over elections run by the state. That is per the constitution.

It’s not bullshit that Republicans think free elections are so so so important, the federal government has to step in and guarantee everything is copacetic, regardless of the fact that the feds are clueless about state polling places and operations.
It’s purposeful. It’s the Republican strategy for decapitating the middle and lower classes in every locality.

A number of States have passed laws that specifically state if a law enforcement officer (LEO) shows up at a poling place to intimidate voters:
And so we passed legislation here in New Mexico this year, Senate Bill 264, that not only prohibits agencies like ICE from interfering in the election process, but it also creates both civil and criminal penalties.
The Governor needs to have State Police avaiiable to immediately arrest any Sturmabteilung ICE Agents who show up to the polls under orders of Mullin the moron to stop citizens from voting. And it needs to be broadcast on the tube and the net to show the Orange Authoritarian POS that the Govornors are not going to play.

Find an excuse to station unconstrained ICE and CBP agents near polling places where if there is a need to ‘flex’, their armed, unidentified presence can be directed to violence and intimidattion. It is the lack of restraint and due process that applies to other government law enforcement agencies that makes their presence… er… useful.
As for the rationale, something, something domestic terrorism… mumble, mumble foreign interference. Look, look, there are some immigranty-people over there.

Very apropo. In Mexico operatives stealing elections are called “mapaches” (racoons).
And Qwayne got the job at DHS because he is going to do just that. They will be doing “citizen Verification” on Democratic areas and will completely mess up the election. John Roberts will say that it was all kosher, and even if it isn’t there is no remedy.
