If only there was a point in this country, to provide leadership and direction in meeting this invisible enemy. Someone who would have a bully pulpit to bring people together, to educate and to devise effective strategies that the populace can depend on. It’s interesting that Today’s Right Wing seems to absolutely require certain types of people to hate. And of course, it’s always “the usual suspects.” The Jews. Blacks. Mexican immigrants. Women. Especially uppity wimmen, who think they know more than you do. People who don’t fit into the Standard, Normal, God-Given sexes. And the list goes on.

I am reading the CDC report as them being asked to tell Trump what reopening will cause…without explicitly saying so…so he can do political triage for the results of his and the GOPs desperate attempts to maintain power.
At 200k per day, even if we need 100M to reach herd immunity, that’s 500 days. The GOP and Trump are looking to turn us all into sacrificial lambs, blood-eagled on the altar of their golden calf.

Yes, it’s common working people that they want to sacrifice – not themselves.
Exhibit A – that moron Dan Patrick’s statement that older people should sacrifice themselves for the “American way of life”
Exhibit B – the Iowa position that refusing to go back to work out of fear of contracting the disease disqualifies that person from continuing on employment insurance benefits.
Exhibit C – McConnell’s refusal to pass more aid unless there is a provision giving employers immunity for COVID-related suits
