The production team behind the popular TV series “Peaky Blinders” denounced the bizarre, anti-LGBTQ+ campaign ad Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) and his presidential campaign put out last week, saying the 2024 candidate did not have permission to use clips from the show.
If used w/o license then better to follow protest with a baseball bat or at least a lawsuit: In Meatball Ron’s world, what is not punished is permitted; law is otherwise a matter of indifference.
"I think identifying Donald Trump as really being a pioneer in injecting gender ideology into the mainstream…that’s totally fair game.”
Perhaps stating the obvious, but it’s just very weird that DeSantis and co. don’t think they’re promoting a gender ideology. They are ideological in the strong sense, that is, they deny that their ideology is an ideology. One of the telltale signs of a hard-core ideologue.
I think that ad was a really effective attack on DeSantis. All the headlines about his extreme positions and sinister music, photos and camera work did their job. Who made it?
How sick I am of disgusting little pig-brains like DeSantis aiming to harm people’s lives for what he thinks will be political gain. May it fail badly, utterly, and completely, to the point where no one ever thinks doing so was ever a good idea. He’s already a failed leader, leaders lead, not pander to the worst among them. He’s just a punch-drunk panderer who richly deserves to get 10-fold the harm he pawns on others for no valid reason.
You know, I see stuff like this, and the white go-go boots, and it makes me wonder, do the Desantis’s have a dom/sub relationship, with Casey as the dom?
Because if you look at it through that lens, a lot of weird, nonsensical, facially humiliating quirks in Ron’s campaign suddenly seem to make a lot more sense …
Viewers are them smacked with a montage of photos and videos of DeSantis alongside images of shirtless men with six packs and scenes from movies and TV shows with over-the-top masculine male characters[.]
Two of the three* images of “shirtless men with six packs” are actually different shots of the same image: the very-well-known GigaChad meme image that is strongly associated with incels. Whoever put this together was making an appeal for support to incels.
*yeah, really, it’s only three. With all the crapping on about shirtless dudes in the ad, I was expecting way more.
He’s calling a transwoman a man. Presumably, a transwoman would be eligible to perform in a woman’s beauty pageant, but he’s denying the premise of them being a woman. I’m not sure about the reality of any transwomen competing in one of Trump’s pageants, but DeSantis is trying to be as transphobic as he can be.
