‘Do They Think Through Anything?’ Pressure mounted throughout the day Tuesday, as it became clear that the Trump administration had done little preemptive work to evacuate Americans from countries surrounding Iran. The State Department circulated a flyer of over a dozen newly endangered countries Monday, instructing Americans to “depart now via commercial means due to…
During the phone call, officials from the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Elections Assistance Commission and Heather Honey, a senior “election integrity” official in DHS, told state authorities that the Trump administration would not dispatch ICE agents — or any other armed federal agents — to polling places this year.
And if you believe that, I’ve got a Kurdish insurgency to sell you.
Unfortunately, we have had three Benghazi-like embassy attack events in three days: in Karachi, Riyadh, and Dubai.
“Many Americans are stuck and scared across the Middle East right now,” wrote Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA). “Where is this administration? Where was the preparation to get these folks to safety? Do they think through anything?”
“They were careless people, Tom and Daisy- they smashed up things and creatures and then retreated back into their money or their vast carelessness or whatever it was that kept them together, and let other people clean up the mess they had made.”
Please order your “Trump I did that” stickers for gas pumps around the country. Prices are going up daily now.
From the NY Times this evening:
ICE Officials Must Acknowledge Court Orders in Writing, Judge Says
A federal judge in New Jersey will now require immigration officials to formally declare that they are aware of court orders that bar migrants from being transferred out of state, after the government repeatedly flouted those directives.
We must not transfer migrants out of state.
We must not transfer migrants out of state.
We must not transfer migrants out of state.
We must not transfer migrants out of state.
We must not transfer migrants out of state.

“You all should have had a plan in place before you started a war. The only guidance Americans have gotten is find your own way home,” said Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN). “The State Department needs to charter flights and buses for Americans and their families immediately.”
Just wondering: has the administration continued its rate and tempo of depotation flights while US citizens are stranded in plausibly hostile environments across the Middle East?
Well, of course. Hilary was at it again. Wasting the R’s valuable time and attention by forcing them to depose her. This is obviously a masterly distraction by Soros and his minions. Mumble, mumble, screech!
Watched some of Hilary being pestered by Nancy Mace. Entertaining in a perverse way. I have to credit HRC’s ability to express total contempt without raising her voice, or doing any name-calling.
Naw. They are just playing wack a mole and moving them from state detention to state detention warehouses, just to get the judges pissed. And keeping all their clothes, id papers, and cash.
Thanks for reminding me that Gatsby has a considerable reputation for a reason. I’ve never read it. Just had a look at Fitzgerald’s Wikipedia page, and I found that my reaction (she looks like nutter) to the photos of Zelda was shared by Menken. I’ll have to attempt to mend that gap in my familiarity with the American canon.
When President Trump was pressed in the Oval Office why there was no plan to evacuate Americans before he struck Iran, he responded: “Well, because it happened to all very quickly.”
How about a followup question: “If it happened so quickly, who determined when to strike? You or Netanyahu?”
I don’t think there’s a correct answer to that question. Either he went ahead without planning, or he’s not in charge. Or both.
OT: For a moment.

Residents of San Antonio and its surrounding area are expressing concern after seeing several aircraft zoom over their neighborhoods. Social media was flooded with clips, photos, and claims of their whereabouts on Monday, March 2.
“Neighbor got a video,” the user captioned their post. “I know San Antonio is Military City U.S.A. but I’ve lived in this house since 2009 & I’ve never experienced something like this … I don’t like this.”
We are in proximity to the Kelly approach. Used to catching strays over the house. Various applications of power, going in or out hot. This last year, the ANG has been going out hot with the F-16s. My intersection off the house also seems a landmark for the Medi-flights going in and out of the Medical Center. Aviation noise is nothing new to me.
But these went over last night, extremely low. I couldn’t understand what was going on. The house shook and the noise was unreal. I swear I was hearing debris kicked up against the house as well. For a moment I thought we had a helicopter landing in the intersection. Nothing made sense until I read this reporting this evening.
I can’t even imagine what the reasoning for this was. These are not sparse neighborhoods. Very dense. Twelve of these things presents a risk in an area with traffic. I can’t imagine prudent controllers would authorize this including altitude.
We had another odd incident the night before, but a jet aircraft and not a helo. That one is hard to describe. But if someone told me someone deployed reverse thrust midflight, I might believe them.
Ditto. Maybe I can get it via audiobook. I’m currently in the middle of Robert Harris’s Cicero trilogy…
Rubio Yesterday: Israel is going to attack. Rubio Today: IRAN WAS GOING TO ATTACK! It must be exhausting and demoralizing trying to keep up with Trump’s disintegrating brain.
Anybody who is not a Trump toady is expendable. We have to remember that DonOLD is not a public servant, but a master.
Did Mace even know how deeply Hillary was cutting her?
At least “Little Marco” knows the iDJiT isn’t doing it to him on purpose…
… or is he?
לירוי ג’נקינס or Leeroy Jenkins ?
asking Dems if they expect “illegal aliens” to be voting in the midterms
Hey, New Journalists. This is a good question to ask every member of Congress. Will your state be unable to conduct secure elections to the point where you need the federal government to tell you what to do?
She’s had a lot of practice since the 1990s, eh?
