But Merchan brought it up in court Friday morning before the jury came in, pointedly telling Trump that the gag order didn’t prevent him from testifying in his own defense and that the choice was Trump’s to make. Bluff called.

Slightly OT (i.e., not part of today’s MM) but just another example of the Zombie Fourth Estate at work.
WaPo article on the forthcoming insolvency of Social Security and the author claims the ONLY TWO OPTIONS – other than just taking on more Gub’mint debt – are to 1) cut benefits or 2) raise the payroll tax rate.
Nowhere in the article does he talk about ELIMINATING THE FCKING PAYROLL TAX CAP!!! I was actually surprised that he mentioned that amounts above $168K are “exempt” from the payroll tax (which makes it sound like a good thing…which it is, for the rich!)
