Sorry to offend, I thought disbot was the only TPM police, i guess I was mistaken
Your response was so far removed from the topic, an attack on Democratic staffers and all the hate demonstrated in doing so, so rudi and viagara, who gives a shit.
Breaking News! Somebody on the left once talked about going to a congressman’s office with a baseball bat.
It got 9 likes, so I guess somebody did
Yeah, well, birds of a feather don’t often see their way to smarts. Besides MY post got 25 likes.
Winning enough seats to make Kevin have to be good at his job… which they know is impossible.
It’s your classic incel rage, this time with a bat instead of a gun.
Timothy McVeigh was an incel and was enraged easily. No lie.
These crazy RWers hurting/killing randomly for their god, TFG. Does this really help them in any way? No, it does not. They could be killing fellow Rs for all they know. It is killing for kicks and headlines. It won’t help the RW in the next election.
We are still a Democratic Republic. We must hold on to the idea of civil behavior as a realistic goal.
And also generally in keeping with the conversational tone here at The Hive.
Look, nothing about this is intended to make light of the injuries suffered by the staffers. A state of affairs in which people whose full time job it is to make themselves available to the public in their district must live in fear of some random nutjob “expressing his opinion” by means of potentially-deadly violence is absolutely deplorable.
But. On the other hand. The very worst thing you can do to these RWNJ whackadoodles is to laugh at them. And, honestly, they deserve to be laughed at, hooted at, made objects of derision.
Oppression depends on fear. Fear and laughter are incompatible. That’s why dictatorships always go after the satirists.
Can’t we all just get along?
WaPo excerpts from article:
Connolly said the assailant drove to his district office and walked through the front door carrying the baseball bat Monday morning. At the time, Connolly said he was at a ribbon cutting for a food bank in another part of Fairfax County.
Connolly said the man asked, “Where’s Connolly?” and grew agitated when he learned the congressman was not in the office. Connolly said the man then assaulted the intern, who was sitting at the reception desk, with the baseball bat. Connolly said it was the intern’s first day in the office. He said the man struck her on one side of her body.
A commotion ensued, and Connolly said the man struck the office’soutreach director on the back of the head with the bat. Another staffer, who is a retired Army sergeant, then herded all of the staffers into an office to safeguard them, Connolly said.
“The man then went on a rampage and was smashing glass windows and a computer,” Connolly said.
Update: Hy Pham, Xuan Pham’s father, said his son was schizophrenic and had dealt with mental illness since his late teens. He said his son was not married and did not have a job because of his condition. The son lived with his father, who said he had been unsuccessfully trying to arrange mental health care for Xuan Pham.
Pot, kettle much? You’re the worst thread hijacker on this site.
Luckily it was a bat and not an AR-15
Thoughts??? Other then he’s a nut
Suspect in baseball bat attack at congressional office filed a bizarre $29M lawsuit against the CIA - Raw Story - Celebrating 19 Years of Independent Journalism
The suspect in a baseball bat attack at a Virginia congressman’s office that injured two staffers Monday morning last year filed a bizarre $29 million lawsuit against the CIA accusing the agency of “Fourth Dimension” torture among other allegations, NBC News senior reporter Ben Collins tweeted Monday.
Pham in his complaint against the CIA alleges that the agency “has been guilty of wrongfully imprisoning me in a lower perspective based on physics called the book world since 1975. Following that they are guilty of brutally torturing me with a degenerating disability consistently since 1988 till the present from the fourth dimension.”
“I am entitled to be cured and returned to normal condition by a digital technology and compensated for my extreme suffering and losses in the amount of $29,000,000.”
His name sounded vietnamese.
Thank goodness for the clear thinking staffer for getting them out of harm’s way. Demonizing Democrats as the enemy should be denounced but sadly some Rs will continue to do so. This is just awful.
America’s favorite pastime…
Can’t we, for once, throw apple pie?
At least that would match with the farce if it all.
USCP are getting on this quickly.
If that’s a McVeigh joke, it bombed
Exactly; since it was the Fairfax City police who evidently responded, I’m assuming that’s where the attack was, though the statement was a joint one from both the Fairfax police and the Capitol police.
